Aya was in a really bad mood because she thought last night she almost cheated on Dane. She should have “managed to stop Ian from kissing her or getting close to her.
So today, in the early morning, she left her house only to confess what had happened and apologize to him.
However, as soon as she saw Freya, she was shocked. Her shock turned into the endpoint when she heard Freya’s words.
“Your m–mate? What are you saying?” Ava asked Freya with a confused look.

Ava blinked as she did not know what to feel. When she saw tears in Freya’s eyes, she felt hurt in her heart. She never liked Freya; however, today her heart was aching for her.
She understood how painful it was to be rejected by your mate. Her mind was suddenly filled with one question. “Did he reject you?”

Ava shook her head, as she did not mean it; she only wanted to know the answer.
Freya walked past her, brushing her shoulder against hers. I will never forgive you. You did not only break my heart but also Ian’s heart. If he hurt you years ago, now you are hurting him even more. He never touched me or let me kiss him. He did not even allow other women to kiss him. He had been foolishly in love with you for years. Freya exhaled with a grin that looked hurtful. “Even if you had known, you would have had to be with him. He will never let you go. He is a selfish man who only does what he wants.”
After saying that, Freya left the house, leaving Ava in a daze and guilt.
Ava felt like crying. She never thought to break someone’s heart or ruin anyone’s life.

She turned around and saw Dane walking out of the bathroom in a white bathrobe.

“When did you come?” he asked.
He spoke softly, not as harshly as he had spoken to Freya before.
This woman seemed to have a great effect on him. He walked toward her, causing her to step backward.
He paused a few steps away from her as he noticed her movements.
His eyes darkened as his gaze roamed around the room. His gaze returned to her, and he asked,
“Did Freya tell you something?”
Ava tightened her fists and stepped toward him. She pushed his chest in a fit of rage.
He was taken aback. For the first time, she behaved like this to him.
“You slept with her?” she asked, glaring at him.
His gaze, which was almost darkened by her push, turned soft again.
“Ava, I didn’t want to hurt you.”
“Yeah, I saw how you did not want to hurt me by carrying her in your arms and leaving me alone at the party,” she said mockingly.
