As midnight approached, Adele began to feel sleepy. She put down her book, turned off her bedside lamp, and lay down, ready to sleep.
She thought she might have trouble falling asleep, since it had been a long time since she had shared a bed with Franklin.
However, she then realized that once Franklin finished his work, he might go out to be with Julia. He wasn’t necessarily going to stay here overnight.
With this thought, she drifted off, unknowingly falling asleep amidst the rhythmic sound of his typing.
She slept soundly, feeling the warmth of the covers. It was incredibly comfortable.
Just as she was about to get up, she suddenly felt a warm breath on her ear.
And it seemed like she was holding someone…
When she realized what was happening, her body stiffened, and her consciousness instantly snapped awake.
She opened her eyes and saw that she was lying on her side, in Franklin’s embrace.
He had both arms wrapped around her, and his legs were entangled with hers, sleeping deeply.
The two of them were so close, there was almost no space between them.
Adele could clearly feel the warmth of his chest and hands…
She was sure that she had been sleeping quite peacefully the previous night.
Before falling asleep, she had intentionally turned to lie on the edge of the bed, thinking that even if she ended up in the same bed with Franklin, there would be a large gap between them, and they wouldn’t touch.
So, how did they end up this way?
Unless…
Unless Franklin had already grown used to sleeping with Julia in a hugging way during the nights. Last night, in his drowsiness, he must have mistaken her for Julia and pulled her into his arms…
As she thought of this, Adele pulled her hand away from Franklin’s/chest, slowly clenching it into a fist.
She moved slightly, trying to extricate herself from his embrace
Perhaps her movement startled him, as Adele felt his arms tighten around her slightly, pulling her back into his embrace.
Adele froze for a moment. Just then, a kiss landed on her forehead, and he whispered, “Sleep a little longer.”
Adele knew that those words weren’t meant for her.
After all, they had been married for so many years, and Franklin had never held her like this while sleeping. As for a good morning kiss, that was even more impossible.
Adele was certain that Franklin had mistaken her for Julia.
She bit her lip, her eyes slowly reddening with suppressed emotions.
Franklin did not wake up.
Adele looked at him, suppressing the bitterness in her heart. After taking a deep breath, she slowly pulled away and extricated herself from his arms.
They were so close that even a slight movement would inevitably disturb him.
Sure enough, just as she removed his hand from her waist and was about to pull her legs out from under his, Franklin woke up.
Their eyes met.

Chapter 87
As Franklin came to his senses and realized the situation, he must have realized he had embraced the wrong person. He paused for a moment and then released his legs from around her.
Adele quickly retracted her legs, turned over, and without looking at him, moved to the edge of the bed, put on her slippers, and went to the bathroom
When she came out of the bathroom, there was no sign of Tranklin in the room.
As she stepped out of the room, she noticed that Franklin, still in his sleepwear, was talking on the phone at the end of the corridor.
Adele took a glance but quickly averted her gaze and went downstairs.
Grandma Collins had already woken up.
After a while, Isabella came downstairs as well.
Grandma Collins smiled, “Since everyone is awake, let’s have breakfast.”
Isabella cheerfully replied, “Okay!”
As soon as Isabella finished speaking, Franklin also came downstairs and sat down next to Adele.
Remembering what had happened that morning, Adele shifted a little in her seat, creating a bit more distance between them.
As Isabella ate her noodles, she looked at Franklin, and as if recalling something, she blinked her pretty eyes and asked, “Does Daddy like to sleep with Mommy, too?”
Adele, who was drinking her soup noodles, nearly choked.
Franklin didn’t respond.
Adele’s face had already turned red from the earlier choking, and now she felt even more awkward. Her expression became unnatural.
Grandma Collins, however, was quite happy to hear this, “Oh? Why do you say that, Isabella?”
“Just now when I woke up, I went to Mommy’s room to find her, and I saw that Mommy was being hugged by Daddy…”
Grandma Collins chuckled, suddenly understanding, and teasingly looked at Adele and Franklin.
Franklin remained silent.
Adele’s face became even more unnatural.
She knew that the person Franklin wanted to embrace was not her.
At that moment, her phone rang.
It was a call from Grandma Miller,
Adele answered, “Grandma.”
