Chapter 89
“Okay…”
Isabella moved aside.
The butler looked puzzled, “It’s so late, are you leaving, Madam?”
Adele didn’t explain much, “Yes, I have something to do.”
She then added, “It’s cold outside, go inside quickly.”
“Got it.” Isabella waved at Adele and went inside with the butler.
Adele watched them, turned the car around, and drove away.
After Isabella entered the house, she asked the butler, “Where’s Daddy?”
“He should be in the study.”
Isabella went upstairs and found the study door open. At that moment, Franklin’s tall figure was leaning against the window, looking out, as if smoking a cigarette.
“Daddy.”
“Mm?” Franklin turned around.
Isabella said, “Mommy had something to do, so she left right after coming back.”
Franklin put out his cigarette in the ashtray and said, “Mm, Daddy knows. I saw.”
Isabella wrinkled her little nose, “Mommy’s so busy lately, she’s almost as busy as you now.”
Franklin smiled slightly, “Mm.”
It wasn’t late, and Isabella was tired. She yawned and said, “I’m going to take a shower and sleep. Goodnight, Daddy.”
“Goodnight. Sweet dreams.”
Adele returned home, washed up, and went straight to bed.
The next day, she went to work on time.
In the afternoon, due to work needs, she, along with Simon and other technical staff, went to Collins Tech to handle some technical maintenance work.
This time, she didn’t see either Franklin or Julia.
In the following days, including when she returned to the villa on Thursday to cook for Isabella, she didn’t run into Franklin.
She heard that he hadn’t gone on a business trip but had some personal matters and wouldn’t be home for dinner.
As for whether his “matters” involved a date with Julia or real business engagements, Adele didn’t ask.
On Friday after work, as Adele was thinking about what to eat, Isabella’s phone call came through again.
“Mommy, Daddy won’t be home this weekend./When are you coming back?”
So, this meant she had to take care of Isabella for the weekend.
For whatever reason, in these past two years, it had mostly been Franklin who took care of Isabella.
Now, whether Franklin had personal arrangements that made it inconvenient for him to take her or whether he truly had social engagements, since he wasn’t available, Adele had the responsibility to take care of Isabella.

Adele returned to the villa.
At dinner, she asked Isabella where she wanted to go on the weekend.
Isabella thought for a moment, then shook her head, “I don’t have any special place I want to go.”
Adele could tell by her expression that it wasn’t that she had no places in mind, but rather that she wanted to be with Franklin and Julia over the weekend.
Now that they weren’t around, nothing seemed interesting to her.
Adele didn’t point it out. Instead, she asked, “Do you want to go horseback riding?”
Isabella hadn’t ridden in a while, and upon hearing this, she became interested, nodding eagerly, “Yes!”
The next day, Adele took Isabella to the equestrian club,
When they arrived and Adele changed into her riding clothes, she overheard Isabella, with her back to Adele, talking to the instructor.
“My dad and one of my aunts are amazing at horseback riding, they’re so cool! Too bad they couldn’t come with me today…”
Adele stayed at the door, not interrupting their conversation.
It was the instructor who noticed her and stood up, greeting her, “Miss Miller.”
Adele nodded and the instructor asked, “Should I call someone else to assist you?”
Adele nodded, “Yes, please.”
Adele actually knew how to ride horses, but when Isabella was younger, when she took her to the equestrian club, she focused all her attention on Isabella and didn’t ride much herself.
She hadn’t ridden seriously for about three or four years.
Her riding skills were still good, but just to be safe, she decided to let someone accompany her at first.
Isabella was taken by another instructor, and Adele went to another field.
The instructor, thinking she couldn’t ride, was surprised when he saw her mount the horse so smoothly, “So Miss Miller can ride?”
Adele nodded.
She let the instructor guide her for a while, then took the reins herself. With a flick of the whip, the white horse neighed and began to run.
She rode for several laps before finally stopping and heading toward Isabella.
When she was about ten meters away from her, she suddenly stopped in her tracks,
It was Franklin and Julia.
They had come here as well.
Isabella was happily hugging Julia’s leg, and the three of them seemed to be chatting about something, their mood visibly cheerful.
Then, Isabella and Julia mounted a horse together. Isabella sat in front, while Julia sat behind her.
As for Franklin, he had mounted another horse.
The two horses walked side by side, with the three of them laughing and chatting. From a distance, they looked just like a happy family.
Their figures gradually moved away, unaware of her presence. Adele watched them for a moment, then averted her gaze and tur.
leave.
She changed out of her riding outfit, took a sip of water, and sat for a while. Then, Franklin’s call came through.
Adele answered, “Hello.”

On the other end, Franklin said, “I’m at the equestrian center. I’ll take Isabella with me.”
Adele replied, “Okay,”
As soon as her words fell, she heard the sound of Franklin decisively hanging up the phone.
Adele had been waiting for this call. Now that she knew where Isabella was, she grabbed her bag and turned to leave.
