Chapter 20
Chapter 20
Arya looked up and locked eyes with Finn’s cold, piercing gaze, which seemed unfathomably deep and mysterious. Besides, she couldn’t help but feel that this scumbag seemed even more disdainful of the Barnett family than she was.
Suddenly, it hit her that Finn was the child Colin had with another woman outside the family.
Surely, that snobbish Eleanor didn’t like him.
So, it seemed perfectly reasonable for Finn to dislike the Barnett
family.
Thinking about this, Arya inexplicably lightened up a bit.
Meanwhile, a lavish lunch was being prepared at Barnett Mansion.
It was not only a welcome–home party specially arranged by Colin for Finn,
also
matchmaking event for him.
Ever since Finn mentioned marrying Arya yesterday, he had privately discussed the matter with Terry McKinney, the head of the McKinney family, one of the five major families in Flodes.
He planned to introduce Finn to Miss Natalie McKinney at this welcome–home party.
Not only with good looks, but Natalie came from a good family and was a well-
l–known TV host.

up his idea of marrying Arya.
On, arrived with his wife Nora, and daughter Emily.
Seeing that Malcolm wasn’t there, Eleanor asked, “Where’s Malcolm?”
Nora replied elegantly, “Mom, Malcolm is bringing Eloise back today, but they might be a bit late.”
Hearing this news, Eleanor immediately beamed. “Then I need to prepare a big gift for Eloise.”
She had three grandsons and one granddaughter.
Malcolm and Emily were the children of her eldest son, Aiden.
Damon and Hector were the children of her second son, Jensen.
Logically speaking, all grandchildren should be equally loved, but she favored her eldest grandson, Malcolm, more and was rather indifferent toward the
two sons of her second son.
A more important reason was that she had never been satisfied with Scarlett, the wife of Jensen. Naturally, she wasn’t fond of Scarlett’s son, Damon.
To make things worse, Damon was a big fan of facing cars, always wearing that cold, unapproachable facade. It gave her this inexplicable feeling that he was just like his mom.
Later on, Jensen divorced Scarlett and married a small–time internet celebrity, having another grandson named Hector.
Hector was only eight years old this year, but he was already bossy and wild. Eleanor naturally didn’t like him either.
As a result, she favored Aiden’s family more.
“Grandma, this is unfair. You only care about Malcolm.” Emily pouted in dissatisfaction.
As Malcolm’s sister, she was also a big celebrity in the entertainment industry, with tens of millions of fans.
Eleanor just smiled. “Emily, when you bring a boyfriend back, I’ll prepare a big gift for him too.”
Emily immediately clung to her arm and whined, “Grandma, you said it yourself. I’m keeping track.”
Not long after, Jensen arrived with his internet celebrity wife Lucy and their eight–year–old son Hector.
But there was no sign of his eldest son, Damon.
It seemed that everyone in the Barnett family had gotten used to this situation and didn’t pay much attention to it.
