Chapter 765
Stanley told Jessica to head to the restaurant by herself first.
Jessica froze for a moment. She had wanted Stanley to come pick her up–that was part of the whole romantic ritual of a date.
“Can’t you come get me? 1-”
But Stanley cut her off. “I’ve already had someone reserve a táblem in an important meeting, so go there and wait for me. Be good.”
He ended with the words “be good“, commanding and dominant.
Jessica, who had a soft spot for strong personalities, felt a shiver run down her spine. Without hesitation, she agreed. “Alright, I’ll head over first. Make sure you get there early!”
“Okay.”
Jessica left, having the driver take her to the restaurant.

A waiter greeted her warmly. “Ms. Larson, welcome. Your table is ready. Please follow me to the VIP section.”
The waiter led Jessica to a VIP seat by the window, where the view outside was stunning. Jessica smiled with satisfaction.
“Ms. Larson, would you like something to drink?”
“Start me off with a cup of coffee. I’ll order more when Mr. Hawk arrives.”
“Very well. I wish you two a wonderful date,” the waiter said sweetly.
Jessica felt delighted. When the coffee arrived, she lifted the cup gracefully and began to sip.
Just then, a familiar voice called out.
“Jessica?”
It was Halsey. She had also come to the restaurant and spotted Jessica.
Jessica looked up and smiled. “Ms. Halsey! What a coincidence–seems like we keep running into each other everywhere.”
Halsey was there with Madeline, but Madeline hadn’t arrived yet, so Halsey came in alone.
Yesterday, Stanley had promised Wendy they would go to the courthouse to get married, but he stood her up. Wendy then caught Stanley and Jessica together in the hospital room. Later, Halsey took Wendy home.
This morning, Wendy was busy at the hospital, so Halsey brought Madeline out for a meal.
Halsey snapped, “You make it sound like I wanted to run into you. People like you, who steal someone else’s identity and maliciously interfere in other people’s relationships, disgust me. You’re scorned by society. If I were you, I’d hide and never show my face again!”
Halsey’s sharp tongue was just like Wendy’s, and it infuriated Jessica.
In retaliation, Jessica sneered, “It’s not my fault Wendy can’t keep her own man. Let me tell you the truth—I’m here because Stanley invited me to dinner.”
“What?” Halsey frowned. “Stanley asked you out?”
“That’s right. You heard me! Stanley wants to go on a date with me”
Halsey’s anger boiled over. In her mind, she cursed Stanley countless times for how he treated Wendy. Why was he doing this to her?
“You’re a big, fat liar! I don’t believe Stanley would ever ask you out. You’re trying to trick me, but I won’t fall for it!”

Halsey took the table directly across from Jessica, her eyes locked on the latter.
Jessica’s red lips curved into a confident smile. She couldn’t wait to see Halsey get utterly humiliated!
