Wendy turned to leave, but just then, her phone rang. It was Halsey calling.
Wendy answered–she barely spoke two words before Stanley snatched the phone from her hatid.
“What are you doing? Please give me back my phone!”
Stanley pressed a firm hand onto Wendy’s shoulder. “I’m not going to let you take Bella away. Do you hear me?”
Wendy pulled back, her voice steady. “You have no right to decide where I go! Bella and I are free.”

Stanley wasn’t about to let Wendy leave with Bella, not after he almost lost them once. He refused to lose them again.
He wanted to say more, but a sudden, searing pain exploded in his head, sharp and unbearable. His face went pale. Even though he had taken painkillers before coming, the stabbing ache was far worse than he expected.
Wendy pushed Stanley away, gently but firmly. “If you won’t leave then I will.”
She tucked the two plane tickets into her bag, slung it over her shoulder, and started walking out.
“No, don’t go!”
Stanley rushed forward and wrapped his arms tightly around her from behind.
The closer he got, the worse the pounding in his head became, tearing through him. But he didn’t want to let go. He buried his handsome face deep in her long hair, rubbing against it with a desperate affection.
Despite the pain, he felt a twisted kind of joy.
“Please let go of me!”
“I won’t! Don’t take Bella away from me–I can’t lose you!”

Suddenly, Stanley pushed Wendy down onto the sofa and leaned over her, cupping her face with both hands as he kissed her fiercely.
“Mmm!”
Wendy immediately raised her hands to press against his strong chest. “Don’t touch me. Let go!”
But Stanley kissed her with all his strength, as if trying to swallow the sweetness of her mouth like a violent storm, hoping it would dull his pain.
At that moment, a luxury car pulled up outside the villa. Halsey stepped out, followed by Jessica.
Halsey smiled. “We’re here. Stanley and Wendy are inside.”
Jessica looked at the villa. “I don’t believe they’re together! Let’s go in and see for ourselves.”
“Sure. I’ll open the door.”
Halsey entered the code and swung the door open. The two women walked inside together.
Soon, they spotted Stanley and Wendy. Stanley was pinning Wendy down on the sofa, kissing her passionately. The scene w intense, almost intoxicating.
Halsey quickly covered her eyes. “They just can’t keep their hands off each other, can they?”
Jessica froze, disbelief flooding her face. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing–Stanley was really with Wendy, and they were entangled in a passionate embrace.
How? How could this be? Hadn’t Stanley been under the Heartchain Curse? He wasn’t supposed to touch Wendy!

Halsey glanced at Jessica. “See? They’re together.”
Jessica’s heart plummeted. She stepped forward. “Stanley, what are you doing with Wendy?”
Hearing Jessica’s voice, Wendy shuddered, and she pushed Stanley away swiftly. “Let go of me!”
This time, Stanley didn’t resist and released her.
Wendy sat up, but Stanley immediately reached out and pulled herback into his arms.
