Angela arrived with Bella, who beamed as she rushed into Wendy’s arms. “Mommy, you look so beautiful today! I mean, you’re beautiful every single day…”
Bella’s sweet words made Wendy’s heart melt. She bent down and kissed Bella’s rosy cheek. “I missed you so much!”
Angela stepped closer with a warm smile. “Congratulations, Wendy.”
Wendy smiled back softly. “I’ve been so busy lately. Thank you for taking care of Bella.”
Angela’s eyes sparkled with affection as she looked at Bella. “Sheny very own granddaughter, the bloodline of the Hawk family. It’s my job as her grandma to care for her. I love spending time with Bella.”
Bella giggled happily.
“I can’t believe Horace and Brittany have officially made you their goddaughter. Who would have thought the ties between the Hawk and Larson families would be so unbreakable! I’m truly happy for you.”
Angela’s joy was genuine, and it filled Wendy with warmth. She lifted her lips in a small, grateful smile.
Outside, in the grand hall bathed in sparkling lights, Horace and Brittany stood side by side. Today, Horace wore a custom- tailored black suit, his demeanor both handsome and composed. Brittany was stunning in a flowing gown, elegant and radiant. They looked like a perfect match.
A few executives gathered around them, showering compliments. Mr. and Mrs. Larson, congratulations on gaining yet another daughter.”
“We’ve heard so much about Ms. Crone. She’s really lucky to have you as her godparents!”
Brittany smiled knowingly. “Wendy is now our precious daughter. No one is allowed to mistreat her.”
“Of course not. We’re lucky just to be friends with her.”
“When she has some free time, we hope she’ll join us for a drink.”
