Chapter 801
Halsey’s feet hit the ground, and she took off running.
Gilbert laughed bitterly he had expected her move. Quick as liglining, he grabbed her art and shoved her against the wall.
Holding her shoulder firmly, he demanded, “Where do you think you’re going?”
“I should be the one asking you–what exactly do you want?” Halsey shot back. “We ended things three years ago. No, we never even started. Why can’t you just let me go?”
Gilbert looked at her. “I don’t want this to end. Just give me one more chance. Let’s be together.”
“Dream on,” Halsey hissed. “I’m never getting back with you.
“Why not?”
“Why do you think?”

“Are you hung up on that past with Sienna? Yeah, I’ve slept with her. It’s not like you’re still a virgin! You’ve been with Dwight, so why do you look down on me?”
Gilbert’s jealousy for Dwight burned hot–he knew Halsey had given her first time to Dwight. He knew better than anyone how much she loved Dwight three years ago.
Halsey glared at Gilbert. “Enough!

“Why not? What’s so great about him? Wake up! Three years have passed. Dwight never came back. He’s married to some other woman by now–maybe even has kids. You’re stupid–even after all this time, you’re still holding onto his sister!”
“Maddy’s my sister! Don’t you dare disrespect her!”
“Why do you protect her so much, huh? Do you still love him?”
Gilbert’s jealousy was out of control. Just hearing Dwight’s name set him off.
“It doesn’t matter whether I love him or not. The truth is, you don’t even compare to him,” Halsey said.
Gilbert’s eyes reddened. “How do I not compare? I’m gonna show you I’m better than him!”
He leaned in to kiss her lips.
Panicked, Halsey quickly dodged. “Let me go! Don’t touch me!”
In desperation, she bent her knee sharply into his groin. Gilbert doubled over in pain, ready to react–but suddenly, a wooden stick hit the back of his head.
Gilbert released Halsey and turned around to see Madeline standing there.
Madeline dropped the stick and grabbed Halsey. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine! Let’s get out of here!” Halsey grabbed Madeline’s hand and ran.
Gilbert, furious and humiliated, shouted, “Halsey, you’ve crossed a line! These past three years, I’ve spoiled you way too much! Get them!”
At his command, a group of black–clad bodyguards rushed over.
“Chase them down! Tonight, I want Halsey in my bed!”
The bodyguards answered, “Got it!”
Halsey pulled Madeline out of the bar as the guards closed in behind them.

“Stop! Don’t run!”
They reached the main street.
Halsey waved at passing cabs and yelled desperately, “Stop! Please
Yet, none of the cabs slowed down.
Madeline glanced back–Gilbert was close. “Halsey, he’s coming.
Halsey kept trying. “Please, stop!”
Alas, no cab dared to pull over.
Gilbert soon caught up.
“Get back here!”
