Chapter 61
Chapter 61
At this moment, Evelyn could no longer maintain her earlier elegance, and her words began to sharpen with a biting edge.
As soon as Russell heard Evelyn’s voice, he was irritated and on the verge of snapping. Just as he was about to tell her to shut up and leave, a hoarse yet firm voice echoed through the room, saying, “I’ll eat it.”
It was Albert’s voice.
Evelyn turned around in disbelief, only to see Albert looking at Arya with a serious expression, his face full of trust.
“Albert,” Evelyn forced a smile and said, “For safety’s sake, why don’t we call the dean and the heads of the medical university’s affiliated hospital to come take a look? That would put our minds at ease.”
“No need,” Albert waved his hand dismissively and immediately looked at Russell. “Russell, give me that pill. I’ll take it now.”
Although Russell had some doubts about the dark pill, he handed it to Albert without hesitation.
After all, Finn had admitted that Arya was Lexie, and the pill couldn’t possibly harm Albert, could it?
Albert grabbed the pill with his bare hands and popped it into his mouth, swallowing it without a second thought.
He didn’t even flinch.
Honestly, Arya was a bit surprised.
To make the pill more effective, she had indeed added some unusual ingredients. From its appearance, it was undeniably hard to swallow.
She didn’t expect Albert to be so bold, swallowing it in one go without even blinking.
Russell, after a long pause, quickly grabbed the thermos from the bedside table, opened the lid, and handed the water cup to Albert, saying, “Grandpa, here, drink some water.”
Albert took a small sip and handed the cup back to Russell.
But the next second, Albert suddenly clutched his chest and furrowed his brows in discomfort.
“Grandpa, what’s wrong?” Russell had just put the cup down when he noticed Albert’s: sudden change in expression. He quickly asked in concern.
“Arya! What exactly did you give Albert?” Evelyn immediately turned to Arya, her eyes red with anger as she pointed an accusing finger. “I knew you didn’t want to save him! You want to kill him, don’t you?”
Such a golden opportunity to attack Arya–she wasn’t about to let it slip away.
If something happened to Albert, Arya could kiss her freedom goodbye.
Winnie joined in, also blaming Arya. “I know you’re trying to show off, but you can’t just give Albert some random pill and claim it will cure his illness. You’re playing with his life!”
Arya shot them both a cold glance and said, “Shut up.”
The pill she made was potent, and as Albert’s stomach absorbed it, it was normal for him to feel some discomfort. But it would pass quickly.
True to her expectations, just two minutes later, Albert straightened up, and a refreshed expression spread across his face. “Incredible. This is absolutely amazing.”
“Grandpa, how do you feel?” Russell’s sharp features were laced with worry. Albert had been in pain moments ago, and now he seemed completely revitalized. Could it be a brief improvement before the end?

Albert smiled and said, “Russell, this is the most amazing medicine I’ve ever taken! I feel like the energy in my body has been awakenen, të lo hurt anymore. I feel like I’ve suddenly turned twenty years younger.”
As he said this, Albert turned to Arya with a smile, motioning for her to come closer, His warm tone was a far cry from the arrogance he had shown e Arya, unperturbed, walked over and said, “Albert…”
Albert interrupted, his face beaming with affection. “No need for the formalities. From now on, just call me Grandpa, just like Russell
Grandpa? Evelyn’s eyes went wide in disbelief.
She had saved Albert’s life, and he had only allowed her to call him by his name, but now he was asking Arya to call him Grandpa? Wasn’t this an indication that he saw Arya as family?
Arya thought for a moment before replying, “I’ll still call you Albert. Your treatment is complete, and after a week of rest, you’ll be fine.”
Albert glanced at Russell and then at Arya before suddenly asking with a chuckle, “So, what do you think of Russell?”
Russell was taken aback. “Grandpa, why are you asking her that?”
Arya gave him a cool glance and, without much emotion, replied,” “know him well enough to comment.”
Albert quickly spoke up, “Let me tell you, Russell may seem careless, but he’s actually very responsible. When he gets married, he will treat his wife with the utmost care and love.”
Russell, seeing the conversation heading in an awkward direction, quickly interrupted. “Grandpa, stop talking nonsense.”
This was Finn’s new wife. Albert was about to stir up a scandal.
But Albert paid no attention to Russell’s words and continued, “Colin doesn’t like you, and the Barnett family doesn’t welcome you. That’s their loss. Why don’t you consider Russell? If you marry him, I guarantee no one in Flodes City will dare to bully you.”
The old man’s words rang with conviction, echoing throughout the room.
Arya’s delicate brows furrowed slightly.
Albert wanted her to marry Russell?
Russell nearly had a heart attack at the suggestion.
Thankfully, Finn wasn’t here. If Finn had heard that, things would have gotten very messy.
And just as if summoned, a cool, aloof voice rang out from the door. “Albert, Arya is my wife, so please don’t go around matchmaking.”
Everyone turned to see Finn’s tall figure walking into the room.
With Finn’s appearance, the temperature in the room seemed to drop to freezing point.
Finn was dressed in a white shirt, his long legs encased in black dress pants, exuding an almost monk–like restraint. His handsome, cold face was enough to make any woman swoon.
Evelyn and Winnie were left speechless, completely taken aback.
‘How could someone be so perfect?‘ Evelyn couldn’t take her eyes off Finn.
She remembered how she almost became Finn’s savior, only to have it ruined by Arya, and she couldn’t help but fume.
At that moment, only Russell was completely flustered.

Russell thought, ‘Damn it. Finn really heard? I’m going to get skinned alive. His grandpa sure knows how to dig his grandson into a hole
Finn strode toward Arya, pulling her into his embrace with a low, possessive voice. “You’re treating Albert, and you didn’t even tell me? Hmm?”
