The man in the driver’s seat wore a mask, his face hidden, but his exposed eyes–cold and clear–flickered with a hint of amusement. “Why are you calling me that? I didn’t do anything.”
He looked completely innocent.

Halsey was at a loss for words. She couldn’t bring herself to say it.
Just then, Gilbert floored the accelerator and came chasing after them. He truly hadn’t expected that his driving skills wouldn’t be enough to catch a cab driver. He was driving a Ferrari, for pity’s sake!
Gilbert rolled down his window and shouted, “Stop the car! Stop right now! Do you know who I am? How dare you mess with me! I’ll make you disappear from the Capital!”
Seeing the persistent Gilbert again, Halsey felt a headache coming on. “Don’t stop!”
The man in the driver’s seat smirked. “You just called me a pervert a moment ago. I thought you didn’t want to ride with me anymore.”
“I won’t call you that anymore!” Halsey immediately backed down Now that Madeline and she were in his car, it was better to play it safe. “Please, just drive and lose him!”
The amusement in the man’s eyes deepened.
Gilbert was furious. “Hey, I’m talking to you! Are you listening? You’re whispering like I’m invisible! Can you not see me?” Seeing the cab driver chatting with Halsey, Gilbert was boiling mad. He couldn’t believe he was completely ignored.
The man showed no expression. “My god, it’s so noisy.”
He turned the steering wheel sharply, and the cab swerved into an alley.
Gilbert cursed under his breath and quickly turned the wheel; but just then, a big truck came charging at him from the opposite direction, almost crashing into his car.
The truck driver honked aggressively. Gilbert slammed on the brakes, and the Ferrari stopped just in time.
That was way too close!
Cold sweat broke out all over Gilbert. He looked up and saw that the alley was pitch dark and silent–the cab had vanished.
Damn it!
Gilbert’s wealth had surged in recent years. Everyone around him was eager to curry favor with him–he had never been bested
before.
Now that he had lost to a cab driver, rage boiled inside him.
At that moment, the truck driver rolled down his window and shouted, “Do you know how to drive? Are you trying to get killed? If you are, don’t drag me into it!”

He was determined to find the driver and make him disappear.

“What are your orders, sir?” the subordinate asked respectfully.
“Find out who the cab driver is. Do it now!” Gilbert ordered.
“Yes, Mr. Greenwood.”
Five minutes later, Gilbert’s phone rang. It was his subordinate calling back.
Gilbert answered quickly. “Found anything?”
“Sorry, sir, but we couldn’t find any information on that driver.”
