Madeline gently nudged Halsey forward, making her blush a little. She glanced at Shaun and said, “Hey.”
Shaun looked deeply at Halsey, stunned by this new, alluring side of her that he had never seen before. He couldn’t take his eyes off her.
Madeline burst out laughing. “She’s talking to you! Shaun!”
After being called a few times, Shaun finally snapped out of it and cleared his throat.
Madeline teased, “She looks so gorgeous tonight that you’re totally stunned, huh?”
Feeling Shaun’s intense gaze, Halsey’s cheeks flushed red.
Patricia smiled warmly. “Come on. Sit down.”
Halsey and Madeline took their seats.
Madeline looked at Shaun. “You still haven’t answered my question. Isn’t Halsey beautiful?”

Madeline giggled softly.
Halsey felt her face burning.
The waiter started bringing the food. Cyril glanced at Shaun and asked, “Do you have a partner?”
“I’m single now,” Shaun replied. Then he added, “Three years ago, I got badly injured in the face. Chelsea is a doctor, so she’s been by my side all this time. Our relationship is strictly doctor and patient.”
Halsey’s heart skipped. Was he explaining this to her?
So, Chelsea was just his doctor!
Patricia’s eyes were fixed on Shaun’s mask. “What happened to your face?”
