Chapter 42 Tyler’s Beloved One
Chapter 42 Tyler’s Beloved One
Chris was initially puzzled by Serena’s remark, but she winked at him and whispered,” Wedding dress.”
Chris understood and said, “Tyler, did you book a silk satin wedding gown? When I went to order my wedding dress, the owner said the reservation was made by Mr. Langford. That dress is quite expensive, and not many people in this city can afford it.”
Tyler stared at Chris. “So what if I did?”
Chris and Serena exchanged glances, both feeling a sense of triumph.
Chris thought he had found Tyler’s weakness. “Tyler, that wedding gown was booked a year ago. Did you have someone you liked back then, and for some reason, you broke up?”
Eleanor glanced at Tyler, remembering Keith mentioning once that Tyler had liked someone. ‘Oh? Really? Have they been together all these years?’ Eleanor wondered.
“I did book it a year ago. So what?” Tyler said coldly. “Mom was pressuring me. I have high standards for quality, so I prepared in advance. Do you have any more questions?”
Chris didn’t expect Tyler to respond like that. Tyler seemed calm and collected, and Chris was momentarily at a loss for words,
“But what if it doesn’t fit?” Serena murmured.
“For you, it definitely wouldn’t fit,” Tyler sneered. “What? Are you going to meddle in my affairs?TM
“No,” Serena whispered. “I’m just concerned about Eleanor. If you don’t truly like her and you marry her, what if the person, you really love comes back? What will happen to Eleanor then?”
“Who said I don’t like Eleanor?” Tyler’s face darkened. “You two are really something, always slandering me. Do you want
me to argue with Eleanor? You mean, I don’t like my wife? Do you think I like you?”
Serena felt like crying again.
“What? Are you going to cry when you lose? Does anyone really care if you’re wronged? Only Chris can put up with you,” Tyler sneered. “Mom, you should avoid bringing them. along when you go out
“We didn’t bring them this time either,” Eleanor said, “They showed up uninvited. I don’t understand why he came. Besides, this was supposed to be a High Tea gathering, but Serena insisted on criticizing and Sliding High Tea.

“Oh, right, Chris thinks she’s just being straightforward. Fortunately, everyone here, for Madam Langford’s sake, didn’t get angry.”
Tyler looked Serena up and down. “Chris, control your wife. If she can’t speak properly.

then she should shut up.”
“Tyler, you came to find Eleanor for something, right? Go ahead and take care of it,” Martha said. “Martha, I’m really sorry about this.”
“It’s okay,” Yvonne laughed and said. “The first half was quite pleasant. Eleanor is really well–mannered and cultured. A blessing in disguise. I’m not belittling Chris, but
Eleanor and Tyler are truly a better match. Chris, listen to me.
“Even if something is true, you should consider whether it’s appropriate to say it out
loud.”
Chris spoke up. “I understand. But the biggest issue today is the bias against Serena.”
Yvonne shook her head. “If that’s the case, then as long as you’re happy, that’s what
matters.”
“As a younger generation, I don’t dare say much here, lest I be accused of something again,” Chris said. “But from today’s events, I understand why Serena was bullied at school before.”
“Was she bullied?” Eleanor laughed. “Forget it. You believe whatever she says anyway.”
“Two peas in a pod,” Chris clenched his fists and said loudly. “But Eleanor, no matter how eloquently you speak, I won’t believe you. You married Tyler through underhanded means. Otherwise, why wouldn’t Tyler want to have a wedding ceremony?”
“That’s right,” Serena chimed in. “A marriage without a wedding ceremony is
incomplete. Maybe Tyler had to work really hard to convince himself to get a marriage license with you.
“That’s why he doesn’t want to have a wedding ceremony. Oh no, sorry, Eleanor. I forgot I shouldn’t say these things again.”
“We’re not having a wedding ceremony because we don’t want to steal the spotlight from
- it.
Vall Tyler took Eleanor’s hand. “I was planning to surprise her, but they ruined
“Let’s go back and check the wedding gown. If it doesn’t fit, we still have time to make
adjustments.”
Eleanor’s lips curled into a smile. “Sure, we agreed when we got the marriage license that we wouldn’t put any pressure on Chris and the others. The good things always. come last.”
Serena glanced at Eleanor/and spoke softly. “Eleanor, why are you being so humble? Are you really willing to wear a wedding gown that Tyler prepared for someone else? “And you look so happy/Even if it’s expensive, it’s not the same as the one Chris had custom–made for me. It wasn’t particularly expensive, but it was his heart.”
Eleanor sneered and reached out to straighten Tyler’s collar. “She’s just jealous of me. Darling, don’t pay any attention to them.”

Keenly, Eleanor noticed that Tyler’s ears were turning a little red and guessed that he was blushing.
She said, “Madam Langford explained it to me. She was urging you to get married quickly. I understand that you prepared the wedding gown in advance, planning to get married whenever you found the right person.
“Some people like to pick up what others don’t want, thinking that the whole world is just like her.”
Serena’s eyes welled up again. “Eleanor, what are you talking about?”
Eleanor was annoyed and glared at Serena, raising her voice. “Enough of that. Your crying just irritates me. You’re such a stubborn person.”
Chris was upset and was about to say something, but a glance, from Tyler made him keep quiet.
“Sentimental,” Tyler said, pulling Eleanor away. “My wedding is still in the planning stages. Once everything is ready, I’ll definitely invite everyone.”
Outside, Eleanor patted Tyler’s shoulder. “Alright, there’s no one else around now. Tyler, who exactly was that wedding gown for? Who have you fallen for?”
Tyler’s deep gaze fell on Eleanor. Seeing her curious expression, he asked, “Aren’t your upset?”
Eleanor was a little unhappy inside, but she chose to ignore it. “You’re quite
considerate. But our marriage was a matter of urgency. You didn’t deceive me in any way, so I’m not upset.”
Tyler looked at Eleanor and said slowly, “She doesn’t know that I like her. And she’s already married. I don’t want to mention her name to avoid any complications.”
“Got it.” Eleanor nodded, showing her understanding. ‘Tyler’s actually pretty thoughtful, considering the girl’s feelings. It must be a happy thing to be liked by him, she thought to herself.
“I’m actually a bit envious of her,” Eleanor said. “To be liked by you.”
Tyler ruffled Eleanor’s hair. “You’re already married to me. Do you really need to envy anyone else?”
