Chapter 57 Privilege
Linda felt nauseous and wanted to vomit at the sight of Serena.
“I don’t have a daughter like you,” Linda said coldly. “You seduced my husband, framed my daughter, and stole her boyfriend? The Donovan family does not welcome you.”
“Mom, how can you say that?” Serena whispered. “I heard you were in trouble and rushed over. Some things really weren’t my intention; Dad forced me to do them. Mom, I’m innocent.
“You used to think so, too. Why have you changed your mind all of a sudden? Did Eleanor say something to you?”
Linda waved her hand. “I was mistaken before, only thinking about the Donovan family‘ s reputation and development, but I neglected what was most important to me. Leave. I don’t want to see you anymore.”
Chris, who had followed Serena, heard this and stepped forward, taking her hand. “Let‘ s go back. You rushed over as soon as you heard they were in trouble, but they don’t care at all.”
“Not necessarily out of worry; she might have wanted to see if they were really dead,” Angust said from the side. “I watched a script recently, and it had a similar plot. They‘ Te still looking for a villainous supporting actress; I think you’d be perfect.”
Serena glared at Angust. “I came because my mother and sister were hurt. Angust, what are you doing here? Tyler is still here.”
“I came to see how Eleanor is. She’s my mentor, and her mother is my elder.” Angust bowed to Linda. “Mrs. Donovan, hello.”
Linda hastily waved her hand. “Hi.”
“Mrs. Donovan, this is a small city, and the medical facilities can’t compare to those in the Capital. If you need anything, I can make a phone call and get you transferred to the best hospital in the Capital,” Angust said.
“You’re really something,” Serena sneered. “Solving everything with a phone call? Don’t brag.”
“Why not?” Angust said. “My grandfathers were very capable. Having privileges is great. It drives you crazy.”
Serena’s face darkened, and she clenched her fists. “You’re really strange. I don’t need your help. We have nothing to do with each other.”
“Oh?” Angust nodded. “I heard yo successfully unlocked! itertainment industry. Did he also help you find resources?”
Serena flicked her hair. “You know about that? It seems you care not only about Eleanor but also about the people around her.”
Chapter 57 Privilege
“It has nothing to do with her,” Angust said. “I just think, is it appropriate not to memorize your lines? Acting with a blank expression throughout, just because you have connections, you think you’ll become famous?”
“It’s just a short drama on a platform. Chris invested in it for me. I’ll act however I want, and you can’t do anything about it,” Serena said. “You’ve damaged my reputation. If I don’t use this opportunity to create some buzz, it would be a waste of attention.”
“What? Haven’t you been notified yet?” Angust feigned confusion: “Don’t worry. You’ll
receive the notice soon.”
Serena glared at Angust. After going through these experiences, Serena understood what to do. She thought to herself, ‘If I want to create a buzz online, I first need to become an internet celebrity.
‘I don’t want to be a live streamer. It’s too tiring. Acting in short dramas is easier. I cant have someone else dub my lines later. Whether it becomes popular depends on the capital investment‘
She sneered, thinking
‘I’m so good–looking: I’ll definitely gain fans. There will always be mindless fans willing to be used. Memorizing lines is such a tiring task. I don’t want to do it. I’ll just pay more for the dubbing.”
Moreover, Chris had already taken care of the production team.
Serena glanced at Eleanor triumphantly, thinking that once she had cultivated a group. of fans, they would attack Eleanor.
‘I’ve heard that some people couldn’t bear the rumors online and chose suicide. It would be great if Eleanor went through something like that,’ Serena thought.
Noticing the unfriendly look Serena was giving her, Eleanor frowned, unsure of what Serena was plotting again.
Serena’s phone rang, and a hint of delight appeared on her face when she saw the
caller ID.
-After answering the call, Serena’s expression grew increasingly gloomy. “How could
you do this? What? The scriptwriter doesn’t like it? Hello?”
Serena hung up the phone, biting her lip as her eyes grew misty again. She linked her arm with Chris’s and whispered, “The director just called. The scriptwriter doesn’t like me and wants to double the compensation to get me off the project.
“What am I supposed to do? I just don’t want to sit around doing nothing and be supported by you. Why is it so hard for me to do something on my own?”
Chris was taken aback. He had already smoothed everything out; there shouldn’t have been any issues, unless-
Chris’s gaze fell on Tyler. “Tyler, are you really going to be this ruthless?”
Tyler sneered. “You’re flattering yourself. When something goes wrong, look inward

first. I don’t have the time for your drama.”
“Tyler, did she ask you again?” Chris pointed at Eleanor. “It was her begging you last time that drove Serena away. Are you still not going to let her go?”
“Don’t pin this on him,” Angust interjected. “I warned you just now. I’m the one who wrote the script. I may not have power or influence, but I’ve got formidable grandfathers. So, the director doesn’t dare to cross me.”
“You?” Serena stamped her foot in frustration. “What gives you the right?”
“I feel like it. Your acting is terrible, and it annoys me,” Angust said.
“The lines are so long, and I can’t remember them. I’m not professionally trained; it’s normal for my acting to be bad. That’s why I wanted to do a short drama in the first place. Serena retorted.
“Eleanor, why don’t you give her a demonstration?” Angust pulled out a script and handed it to Eleanor. “I’m sure you’ll amaze everyone.”
“But why should I demonstrate?” Eleanor countered.
Eleanor, if you do a good job, I’ll make the final decision right here and then. You’ll be the leading lady. It’s a valuable skill to have, and you’ll earn a lot.
“Eleanor, if you’re interested, I’ll advance seventy percent of your payment upfront. How does that sound?”
“Money talks,” Eleanor said, taking the script and flipping through it. It was like her own life story, deeply in love but betrayed.
“Eleanor, demonstrate the breakup scene,” Angust instructed. “Let me first show you Miss Farrell’s acting.”
Angust called someone over to set up a projector. “Watch closely, I’m going to screen it now.”
In the video, Serena’s face was expressionless, and she just opened her mouth without speaking the lines.
“Terrible, right?” Angust shook his head. “Eleanor, give it a try.”
Serena bristled with indignation. “Eleanor, you’re not professionally trained either. It’s hard to memorize the lines in just a few minutes. I know you’re not short of money. Let‘ s just drop it.”
Eleanor looked at Serena and said coolly, “How do you know I can’t do it?”
