Chapter 51 A Choice
“It’s my fault,” Eleanor said. “I should have kept the secret to myself and not spoken out. Madam Langford, you didn’t know about this? I heard Serena personally told Chris, but he didn’t care at all.
“However, this won’t cause any more trouble online. I had Tyler’s PR team handle it. Because of this, my mom is preparing for a divorce.”
“It’s not your fault, Tyler said. “When the company’s PR was handling this, they unexpectedly found two minor accounts, one of which was full of lies. I got angry and took them down. The other one was all about her grievances.”
Serena looked sharply at Tyler, seeming to understand what he was talking about.
“Serena, why are you so surprised?” Tyler said. “Could it be that those two accounts
belong to you?”
“No, they’re not, Serena whispered. “I’m just curious about what was written in those
accounts.”
“Really? The things I wrote were discovered,” Eleanor said with a look of feigned astonishment. “I’m really sorry. I was afraid it would have a negative impact on Chris and Serena. But it should be fine. I didn’t mention any names. I just said Serena was imagining herself being bullied again.
“I saw Serena and Chris kissing. The home surveillance caught Dad and Serena having an unusual relationship. Chris hit me for Serena. Chris married Serena. No one would dig deeper into what these statements really mean.”
Serena’s face darkened, and her gaze at Eleanor was filled with a deep–seated hatred.
Serena felt that Eleanor was deliberate. Eleanor must have discovered her minor account and her secrets. Eleanor was intentionally retaliating against her.
Suddenly, with a crash, a cup smashed at Serena’s feet.
“Serena, what was that look just now?” Tyler warned. “If I see you looking at Eleanor like that again, don’t blame me for being rude.”
Serena whispered, “Eleanor, you really are scheming. You’ve set up traps step by step, just waiting for me to fall into them.”
Eleanor propped her cheek with her hand and calmly looked at Serena. “Why blame. me again? I got inspired by someone and decided to write it. I didn’t plan for the account to be exposed.
“I just needed a place to vent my grievances, Only those who know will understand what it’s about. But I’m curious. What was the content of the other account?”
Tyler said, “It was all dramatic stuff. This person had dealt with similar situations before. Some mistresses would deliberately portray themselves as victims, releasing

Twitter posts at the right time to guide public opinion.
“That person lost his mother in that public opinion battle, so he particularly despises those who use such means to gain sympathy. It just so happened that it hit his sore spot. Serena, the owner of that account wasn’t you, was it?”
Serena’s face turned pale. “Tyler, I don’t understand what you’re saying.”
“Think about it. Do you have any memory of it? For example, being adopted and having no one to rely on, having to live under someone else’s roof. It sounds pitiful, doesn’t it? If it were true, of course, it would be pitiful.
“But her learning was too poor, and her expression was exaggerated. She
underestimated the public. Many people saw through her at a glance. However, I can restore that account if you want,” said Tyler.
Serena clenched her fists. The things she had done couldn’t be hidden from Tyler.
Eleanor really has good fortune. In comparison, Chris is really inferior, she thought to herself.
“Serena, are you regretting now?” Eleanor suddenly said. “Are you thinking that you should have married Tyler?”
Serena composed herself, slowly looked at Tyler, and said, “Tyler, I don’t understand what you mean, and I have no improper thoughts about you. I genuinely like Chris.”
Even if you liked me, I wouldn’t be with you. I find you disgusting.” Tyler said. “I was the first one to notice that your relationship with Mr. Donovan was unusual. I kindly gave Eleanor a heads–up. Looking back, I should have gone straight to Mrs. Donovan.”
“Tyler, you knew about this back then?” Chris said. “Why didn’t you help Serena get out of that situation?”
“They seemed happy together, and everyone has their own choices. If I had told Eleanor, Serena would become her stepmother. It must be awkward, Tyler said.
“It wasn’t voluntary on my part. I was forced into it. My depression is also because of this,” Serena whispered. “I shouldn’t have kept it a secret, but I swear it wasn’t voluntary.”
“Serena, I understand,” Eleanor said slowly. “Mom said that you were still a child back. then and must have been deceived by your father. That’s why she’s getting a divorce.”
“I see,” Martha said. “So it’s true that Serena had an affair with Mr. Langford, and it became public knowledge?”
“Although Serena was in the wrong for this, if I hadn’t been angry and spoken out about it, letting it stay hidden, perhaps the Langford family wouldn’t have been ridiculed,” Eleanor said.
“I didn’t.” Serena’s face flushed. “Chris knew it.”
“Yes, that’s right,” Chris said. “As her husband, I don’t care. She’s been through enough

already; why are you all still pressuring her?”
“Chris, why are you in such a hurry?” Eleanor said. “I’ve already thought it through. Since Serena is innocent, she needs to prove it. She should publicly accuse her adoptive father of harming her.
“Coupled with Mom’s righteous act of turning against her own family, everyone will sympathize with you. People will also praise Chris for being loyal and righteous, a
model for all men.”
“The Donovan family raised me; I can’t do that,” Serena shook her head and whispered. “No matter what the Donovan family members have done to me, I won’t complain. Eleanor, don’t you know that?”
“Serena, your way of speaking is really impressive,” Eleanor said. “As Whitey’s owner, I believe it wasn’t intentional on your part.”
“What’s Whitey?” Martha asked.
“It might be that I misunderstood Serena. I was the only one who saw it at the time, Whitey’s body and Serena standing there. Serena, I’ve never given you a chance to
explain.
“I was wrong. But I dreamed that Whitey said she wouldn’t let the person who harmed her go unpunished,” Eleanor said.
“Really? I don’t remember that.” Serena’s face looked a bit unnatural. “I wouldn’t abuse.
animals.”
“That’s good to hear,” Eleanor smiled. “Only Whitey and the person who strangled it would know the truth. Of course, I hope the dream is real. Sorry, got off track.
“Let’s get back to the issue between you and my father. Serena, right now, you only. have one choice in front of you.”
