Chapter 54 A Little Accident
“Are you alright?” Eleanor waved her hand in front of Tyler’s eyes. She thought he was talking in his sleep.
She found Tyler’s words quite odd. ‘He sounds like he’s jealous, but that doesn’t make sense. Tyler shouldn’t be jealous,‘ Eleanor thought to herself.
Since it wasn’t jealousy, Eleanor rested her hand on her chin and pondered for a moment, then it dawned on her. Businesspeople detested betrayal and deception the
most.
“Tyler, the agreement was signed between you and me first. Naturally, I wouldn’t break my word,” Eleanor said.
As soon as she finished speaking, Eleanor noticed Tyler’s brows furrowed even deeper, seemingly dissatisfied with her answer. “Is it just because of that?” Tyler said.
“Or what?” Eleanor asked. “What kind of answer were you expecting?”
Tyler fell silent, eventually letting out a long breath without saying anything. “I heard that your friend Vera studied human resources?” Tyler changed the subject.
“Yes, she did,” Eleanor said, “What’s the matter? Do you need people and want her to help you out?”
‘Since she’s in HR, she should understand people’s psychology and be able to see what someone truly wants,” Tyler said, “I think you should learn from her how to delve into people’s inner thoughts.”
“Tyler, is there something you want to say?” Eleanor, asked. “Stop beating around the bush. It would be much better if you just said it.”
Tyler stared at Eleanor, thinking, ‘Does she want me to make it clear that I’ve liked her for a long time?‘
Suddenly, laughter came from outside; it was Angust. “You can’t even confess your feelings properly. How embarrassing.”
Tyler’s face darkened. He yanked open the door, grabbed Angust standing outside, and dragged him into the room. “Were you eavesdropping?”
“No, I was listening openly,” Angust said. “Eleanor, he’s too shy to say it, so I’ll help him. He means, he’s liked you for a long time, but you just didn’t know.”
Eleanor was stunned, her gaze falling on Tyler. Tyler was expressionless, seemingly not paying attention to Angust’s words, and Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief. “Angust, don’t say things you don’t understand.”
“Oh, so there is something between you two.” Angust’s eyes lit up. “Eleanor, what is it? Do I still have a chance?”
“Angust,” Eleanor said earnestly. “You’re my good friend.”

“Hey, Eleanor, I don’t just want to be your good friend. How can you know if you don’t try? Tyler, do you like Eleanor or not? Have you been wanting to sleep with her for at long time?
“There’s no need to be shy. It’s normal for a man to want to sleep with a woman he likes, Angust teased.
Tyler clenched his fists, warning, “Even with your prominent family background, if you provoke me on my turf, I can’t guarantee what I might do.”
“Who are you trying to intimidate?” Angust said. “Be straightforward, will you? Like me, I like Eleanor, and I say it out loud. Eleanor, I like you. How about you? Dare you say it?”
Tyler’s deep gaze fell on Eleanor. He had been pretending to be calm while interacting with her and hadn’t been too nervous.
Now, facing Eleanor, Tyler suddenly felt his heartbeat quicken.
Tyler’s fists clenched tightly, and he took a deep breath. The words he wanted to say were just on the tip of his tongue. He was about to speak when he heard Eleanor say, ” Angust, are you asking for a beating?
“Liking someone isn’t just about talking. My husband is reserved. Asking him to say it out loud is putting him in a difficult position.”
Eleanor was about to grab Angust’s ear.
“Eleanor, don’t do that.” Angust covered his ear and dodged. “I’m worried about your future happiness.”
“As a guest, you need to know your place. Don’t wander around and eavesdrop everywhere.” Eleanor kicked Angust out and swiftly closed the door. She then turned to Tyler. “He’s just like that. Don’t take it to heart.”
Tyler smiled and said, “Actually, I almost said it just now.”
“Everyone says nice things, but I don’t want to hear words spoken under duress,” Eleanor said.
“Do you think I don’t like you?” Tyler said. “If I had said it, would you think I was deceiving you?”
Eleanor could tell that Tyler was upset. Their relationship had always been one of
mutual benefit, and they could only say that they didn’t dislike each other. ” of
disliking and liking, well, they seem different, don’t they?”
Tyler gazed at Eleanor. “What if I say I like you?”
Eleanor was taken aback/ She felt a bit overwhelmed.
“Tyler, when people are angry, they tend to speak without thinking,” Eleanor said. “I just remembered. Vera invited me for a Thermage treatment. I’ll go first. You should calm yourself down.”
Eleanor hurried away, leaving Tyler frowning. He wondered, ‘Does she really not care

about it?”
Eleanor arrived at the agreed location and saw Vera arguing with Logan.
Vera said, “I’ve seen you before. You’re Chris’s friend. I know what Chris is like. You can‘ t be much better.”
“You backed up poorly and scratched my car. What’s the big deal about apologizing?” Logan said.
“Vera?” Eleanor stepped forward. “What’s going on?”
Logan, who had been acting arrogantly just now, immediately wilted at the sight of Eleanor. Since being rejected by Eleanor, Logan had consciously avoided bothering her, though he was too embarrassed to face her.
“He parked his car all crooked. He deserved to have his car scratched,” Vera said.
“You have such a bad temper. No wonder no man likes you,” Logan muttered, glancing at Eleanor with a blush. “Long time no see.”
“What do you mean, long time no see? You two should never see each other again in your whole life,” Vera said. “Eleanor is just unlucky to have met your group.
“None of you is any good. If even one of you had a conscience, you wouldn’t have just stood by and watched Eleanor get bullied by Chris.”
“Alright, it was your fault for scratching his car” Eleanor said. “Let’s separate the issues.”
“Phone,” Logan suddenly said.
“What for?” Vera asked.
“I’m busy today. I won’t call you now. But when I have time, you have to go to the insurance company with me,” Logan said.
“Are you crazy?” Although her tone was harsh, Vera still handed her phone to Logan. ” Forget it. I’ll take responsibility. Man, you can come to me whenever you need something in the future.”
Logan drove away with a gloomy expression.
“Crazy.” Vera punched the air at the car. “Eleanor, how’s your wedding preparation going? Do you need a bridesmaid?
“I can do it. I’m not just good at being a bridesmaid; if anyone wants to cause trouble, I can handle them too.”
“Vera, do you think Tyler likes me?” Eleanor said.
