Chapter 5
Rachel played a segment of the recording: “Yes, it’s all recorded. This evidence clearly proves Morgan is a vicious women who harms innocent people.”
“Good. With this evidence, Morgan won’t escape justice.”
I nodded, laughing coldly inside.
Morgan could never have imagined that her loyal right–hand woman of so many years was actually my person.
In fact, Morgan and I had been friends since high school, and when we got to college, we both fell in love with Brian.
But she chose to give up because she wanted to start a business.
And I, after pursuing Brian for a long time, finally got together with him.
Later, Morgan’s business failed, while I established a publicly traded company in just a few years and became famous.
When I learned Morgan was struggling, I contacted her.
To help her quickly adapt to the environment, I assigned Rachel, who knew the business well, to assist her.
Soon, Rachel became her trusted aide, but what Morgan didn’t know was that I once saved Rachel’s life in a fire.
Rachel worked hard to help Morgan because of my arrangement, and I always believed Morgan was focused on her career and maintained appropriate boundaries with Brian. But I never imagined her arrival would push me into an abyss.
In my previous life, before I could react or prepare, I was killed by their scheme.
This time, I wanted not only to escape her plot but to turn the tables!
After Rachel sent me the evidence, I forwarded it to my lawyer.
But instead of leaving immediately, Rachel and I waited quietly for the former financial director, Jessica,
to arrive.
Time ticked by slowly. Finally, at three in the morning, there was movement at the door.

I held my breath. Jessica had lost his rationality due to her hatred for Morgan, so we needed to be extremely careful.
In the moonlight, I saw Jessica’s face clearly. Her eyes were bloodshot as she surveyed the surroundings before approaching the bed.
The next moment, she lunged, stabbing the dummy I had prepared on the bed.
“Morgan Shaw, you bitch, you destroyed my family. Die!”
His angry roar filled the bedroom, just like in my previous life.
Though she was enraged, she wasn’t stupid.
The moment she realized she had missed, she knew she had failed.
As she frantically searched for Morgan, Rachel and I emerged from our hiding places.
Seeing us, Jessica immediately charged.
“Jessica! I’m Ava James. Morgan is using you!” I shouted loudly.
Hearing this, Jessica’s eyes widened.
I stepped into the moonlight to face him.
After seeing my face clearly, the ferocity on Jessica’s face gradually subsided.
“CEO James? How can it be you? I heard in prison that Morgan’s brother said she bought this place. It was in the headlines, but how…?”
I explained, “Morgan did buy this place, but she only spread false news to make everyone think she lives here. In reality, she just wanted to use you to kill me, then take over my company.”
Hearing this, Jessica immediately understood everything and gritted her teeth. “That scheming witch! So calculating!”
Rachel spoke up: “Mrs. Miller, we understand your hatred for Morgan, but revenge through murder isn’t the solution.”
“CEO James has a plan that needs your cooperation. If it succeeds, we promise to not only bring Morgan to justice but ensure she spends the rest of her life in prison.”
After brief consideration, Jessica agreed: “Very well. Since I’ve missed my chance, I can only rely on your help to bring her to justice.”

“Whether we succeed or not, I will make Morgan pay. I cannot let my child die in vain.”
There was a resolute look in Jessica’s eyes.
I understood the depth of her hatred for Morgan and shared my plan with her.
