I nodded and walked off with him.
Gideon called after me with a broken voice, but I didn’t look back.
At dinner, Cassian asked about the situation. I told him the story while eating.
He was shocked, forgetting his food. He took a swig of beer and looked at me with pity.
“Trust me. You will meet someone better,” he said seriously.
His earnestness amused me.
I didn’t expect Gideon, so full of pride, to keep haunting me.
