Chapter 7
Jessica spoke passionately, but the police didn’t understand the whole story and restrained her more tightly, fearing she would lunge forward.
In the end, the police took everyone present to the station.
After confrontation at the police station, Morgan stubbornly claimed the recording was fabricated by someone I hired who mimicked her voice to frame her. Brian, using his position as my husband, continuously defended Morgan, portraying her as a victim.
Eventually, the police cited insufficient evidence and let us all go temporarily, asking us to remain available for further investigation.
I expressed understanding, but Jessica wasn’t satisfied. She wanted to see Morgan brought to justice immediately.
Fearing Jessica might do something impulsive, I brought her back to the company.
If the recording wasn’t enough as evidence, I would prepare an even bigger surprise for her.
However, Morgan appeared at the company like a ghost that wouldn’t rest.
Seeing us, she immediately put on a smug expression.
“Ava, I never thought you’d use such methods against me. But don’t think you’ve won yet.”
“What isn’t yours will eventually be lost.”
As she spoke, she gave Brian’s body a firm squeeze.
Then she looked at Jessica.
“You bitch. I can’t believe you’re still sane after everything.”
“I guess that’s because you never saw how your child were played with. Want me to describe the scene for you? Just thinking about it excites me.”
Hearing this, Jessica’s eyes instantly reddened.
“You monster, you’re dead!”
Jessica was about to charge at her, but I held her back firmly.

Chapter
It was clear Morgan wanted to provoke Jessica into attacking her, to portray herself as the victim and
twist the truth.
1 coldly stared at Morgan: “The evil you’ve done will eventually come back to haunt you!”
“And, I’m officially firing you. Get out!”
Before Morgan could respond, Brian laughed coldly: “Ava, who are you firing? Morgan owns thirty percent of the company’s shares. She’s a shareholder, not someone you can fire at will!”
This witch! I had treated Morgan like a sister and given her shares, only for it to become her leverage to take more
1 looked coldly at Brian: “Brian, Morgan has harmed many people. You’re an accomplice and won’t escape punishment. Wait to be arrested!”
After saying this, Hed Jessica away, afraid I’d lose control and hit them if we stayed longer.
But just after returning to my office, employees outside began causing a commotion.
“Ava James, you ungrateful person who forgets friendship for profit, you don’t deserve to be our boss. Step down!”
“That’s right, Morgan is our ideal boss. She rewards us often, while you’ve always arbitrarily cut our wages. We’ve tolerated it, but now you’re framing Morgan!”
“Today we demand justice for Morgan!”
Someone knocked on the office door.
Rachel went to open it and saw many employees angrily marching toward us.
Leading them were those who had forced me to drink at the celebration.
Now I understood–they had been bought by Morgan.
But the person who authorized employee bonuses was me!
1 realized this snake had claimed all the good deeds for herself!
Morgan embraced Brian, watching me mockingly from behind the crowd.
As if to say, Ava, you’ll never outsmart me.
But seeing this, I remained calm. I found the email I had sent to Morgan, instructing her to implement the reward system, in my notes.

I looked in my notes directly because I knew without checking that Morgan must have deleted all my emails before I returned. A person like her wouldn’t leave any evidence.
But she didn’t know I always kept backup notes.
I had Rachel show the screenshots to everyone.
Seeing this, the crowd paused and looked at Morgan.
“Morgan, what’s going on? Have you been lying to us?”
Morgan immediately shouted: “Ava’s screenshots must be fake!”
“Ava, you’re really good at twisting the truth. First you accuse me of being a murderer, now you frame me. I really was blind to consider you a friend!”
Rachel spoke for me: “The truth will be revealed. Morgan, I’ve been by your side for years, and I know what kind of person you are. Stop lying!”
“I’ve already gathered evidence of your evil deeds.”
Hearing this, Morgan froze.
Then Rachel inserted a USB drive into the computer, and it began playing videos of Morgan’s misdeeds.
Morgan’s eyes widened. “I just deleted these. How did you…?”
After speaking, Morgan realized her mistake, but it was too late. Jessica had already recorded her reaction.
Even if the videos could be faked, Morgan’s reaction in front of so many people was basically an admission of her crimes.
Rachel looked at her and said: “Morgan, you must be wondering how I have these.”
“Do you remember what you asked me to do last night?”
Morgan muttered: “Prison…”
Then her eyes turned vicious.
“Rachel, after all I’ve done for you, you betray me!”
I laughed coldly: “Morgan, don’t misunderstand. Rachel has always been my person. I arranged for her to help you.”

“She discovered videos of your evil deeds on your computer before. When she first told me, I didn’t believe it. I thought someone was framing you. But now I see you’re a murderer with blood on your
hands!”
“You thought I’d rely on just one recording to bring you to justice? No, this is my surprise for you!”
By now, the employees who had sided with Morgan had all distanced themselves from her.
They feared this murderer would harm them. Even Brian was wide–eyed with shock.
“Morgan, didn’t you say that was just a story you made up to trick Jessica? How is it all true?!“.
Morgan lowered her head silently, but after a while, she suddenly burst into laughter.
“Ava, you think you’re so great? Since high school, you’ve always been better than me. In college, you stole my boyfriend.”
“But in the end, weren’t you just a doormat for this cheating man?!”
Suddenly, Morgan slapped Brian.
This caught Brian off guard.
With a hoarse voice, he said: “Morgan… what… are you doing…”
Morgan laughed coldly.
“Why did I leave back then?”
“Didn’t you like me more? Why did you respond to Ava’s pursuit? I hate men like you who play both sides!”
“I left back then, only to return after your marriage to break you up, to make you carry the label of a cheater. I wanted to use you to take everything from Ava, to make her a laughingstock!”
Then she pointed at the crowd: “And all of you, you’re just a bunch of opportunists who change sides with the wind. Give you a few small benefits and you’ll betray anyone. You have no reason to exist in this world. Just die!”
Looking at Morgan, who had descended into madness, I felt strangely calm.
Charitably, her heart was full of obsession.
Less charitably, she was just a completely selfish creature who would stop at nothing!
Just then, police sirens wailed outside the company.

Chapter 7
Soon, police entered and forcibly took Morgan away, along with the evidence Rachel had collected for me.
Brian, meanwhile, had collapsed on the floor.
I walked up to him, looking down.
“Brian, you’re suspected of conspiring with Morgan to harm me. I haven’t immediately reported you because we’re still married.”
“After our divorce, I’ll file charges for your crimes. You’ll face appropriate punishment.”
He looked up, forcing a smile.
“Ava, you still love me, don’t you? Remember when you were pursuing me, you said we’d be together forever? Haven’t you forgotten?”
I calmly replied: “I haven’t forgotten, but I was clearly blind back then.”
With that, I turned and left.
By now, the company employees had come to their senses. Soon, many submitted their resignations.
Most were those who had helped Morgan force me to drink. They begged me not to hold it against them.
I just smiled at each apology.
They were accomplices, and I couldn’t easily forgive them. Life struggles are no excuse for doing wrong.
Afterward, Brian refused to divorce me to avoid prosecution.
I had to file for a forced divorce.
A month later, news of Morgan’s execution made headlines, and my relationship with Brian finally ended.
Brian was also arrested for being an accomplice to attempted murder.
Years later, I accidentally ran into Brian again while attending a business summit.
By then, he had lost his former handsome appearance. Like autumn grass, he was withered, with red spots on his neck, and extremely thin.
Seeing me, he blocked my path, pleading: “Ava, I’m sick. Could you lend me some money?”
“Morgan deceived me. I have nowhere to turn now.”
I glanced at him without speaking and walked away.

Later, I arranged for Rachel to visit the hospital, but by then, Brian had already passed away.
In the end, we were truly never meant to be.
