She cried in his arms.
Ben kissed her forehead and said,
“Ashley, I’m not letting you go. Don’t leave
me.”
“I thought life was set. But then you came to
my side. You’re the woman I love the most in
my life.”
It hurt.
I backed away.
The chair startled Ben.
He looked at me, his eyes red with anger.
“Sarah, if you’re so heartless, don’t blame me
for being cruel.”
He looked at the bodyguards.
“Take Mrs. Carter in there.”
The bodyguards stood there.
Ben kicked a chair.
“What are you standing there for? Do you
even want to work anymore?”
They stepped forward, and one said,
“Ben, we can’t be rude to Mrs. Carter.”
Ben glared at me.
“What Mrs. Carter? Ashley is your boss from
now on.”
“If you can’t tell who your boss is, get out.”
They started dragging me to the room.
I kicked and screamed.
“Ben, you can’t! Let them let me go! It wasn’t
me!”
Ben said coldly,
“Only if you’re tainted will you stop looking down on Ashley and start being obedient.”
The door was slammed shut, and through the
gap, I saw Ben carry Ashley out of the house.

I tried to struggle, but they held my hands and
started groping me.
One of them bit me, and I screamed.
A slap came down on my face, and then
another on my ear.
I was numb, lying on the floor, with tears
streaming down my face.
“Take photos.”
“Why are you going first?”
