Chapter 5
“You know how long I prepared for this role, yet just because she said she wanted to be Best Actress…”
I stared at him, feeling a strong sense of discomfort in my stomach.
Vivian had indeed appeared in my film, but she’d only made a ten–second cameo as an extra, without even a single line.
How could such a person claim she’d put in great effort?
And how could he have the audacity to say she deserved this award?
Seeing my pale face, Ethan took my hand–the first time he’d initiated such contact. “Come on, it’s just a small matter. Once Vivian gets over the novelty, she’ll return the trophy to you. Don’t you like race cars? After the ceremony, I’ll take you to the club to watch.”
I closed my eyes, saying nothing more, my heart steeping in bitterness.
After leaving the ceremony, I received a text from an unknown number.
It was a picture of an exquisite wedding dress.
I immediately realized it was from Harrison Hamilton, the heir to the Hamilton family and my arranged marriage partner.
Ethan saw it and frowned. “I haven’t even agreed to marry you, yet you’re already preparing a wedding dress? Have some dignity. Delete that now before Vivian sees it and gets upset again.”
I put my phone away, realizing he had misunderstood. But thinking about my imminent departure, I didn’t bother to explain.
At the racing club, I went to the restroom.
When I came out, I overheard Ethan’s friend teasing him, “Ethan, are you really not going to marry Sophia? She’s proposed to you 99 times. I’ve never seen a woman so persistent. She truly loves you.”
Ethan scoffed, “Vivian doesn’t like her. Once she finally does something that satisfies Vivian, I’ll consider
it.”
“Man, you really dote on that niece of yours. Even letting her decide who you marry.”
“No one compares to Vivian in my heart.”

Chapter 5
His friend dared not comment further on these inappropriate feelings, but curiously asked, “By the way, I heard the heir of Hamilton family in Harbor City is getting married too, and his bride is also named Sophia Mitchell. It couldn’t be the same person, right?”
“Impossible.” Ethan waved dismissively, his tone certain. “Sophia has been chasing after me desperately for years. She’d lick the ground I walk on if I asked. She’d never leave me. Only I could ever leave her.”
Leaning against the wall, I laughed softly.
But Ethan, this time I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed.
I turned to leave, but as I passed the racetrack, a blinding beam of light suddenly shone towards me from the distance.
I instinctively raised my hand to shield my eyes.
In the blinding headlights, Vivian sat in the driver’s seat, giving me a vicious smile.
Then she mouthed three words.
“GO TO HELL!”
The next second, she floored the accelerator.
