A Rogue wolf I couldn’t let him hurt the kids, I pushed Evan and Elise behind me as soon as I registered his scent and growled at him. I could see the look of fear that crossed his face before he
covered it.
“Don’t worry I don’t wish you any harm we were just passing through I didn’t know it was pack
land” he calmly said while showing me his neck which shocked me. Wolves only show their necks
to those who they view as their superior.
I couldn’t help but want to voice my confusion but my wolf answered my questions for me we are superior in rank and his wolf recognises that why else would he show his neck to us.
What I thought Higher rank how could I be of a higher rank than Drew he was well muscled in his
early thirties with blue eyes and blonde hair.
I was just weak compared to him We are the alpha of our pack Leila do not put yourself down we have always held power but know it is no longer suppressed.
Alpha how could I be an alpha the sudden realisation hit me when I had sworn to protect Evan and Elise it had been a sort of acceptance of protection and acceptance into a pack.
Though for that even to work I must have some alpha blood running in my veins. We are alphas we must protect our pack from danger.
With those words my wolf brought me back from my day dreaming to pay attention to Drew who
still had his neck bent in a show of submission.
Mustering as much courage and authority as if could I spoke to him “why are you on my lands wolf you know that this land is marked why are you here and who is this we you speak of“. I could feel the authority and power leaking from my voice.
Drew cringed “I’m sorry alpha but I did not mean to cross your land I did not know that this territory was marked and only realised to late I mean no harm. The we I speak of is my mate
Gesibelle and I“.
With his words I took a closer look at his appearance he may look bulky but I could see he had bags under his eyes his face was drawn in pain and I could see fresh cuts on his body.
“What happened to you Drew tell me I see that it is not a happy story to tell how did you become a rouge?” I said curiously all the while the kids were holding my legs peeking from around them.
I could see his eyes harden and glaze over with tears “it’s a long story “he said unwilling to let this information leave his mouth.

“I’ve got the time you are not the only one who has suffered in life” I said gesturing to the kids.
He looked at me closely he must have seen something in my eyes for the next second we were sitting under the tree near the pond with the kids enjoying their ice cream. “I used to belong to the blue crescent pack in Idaho it was always calm and peaceful until the death of the alpha.” Drew inhaled a long breath and sighed.
“You see before his death he was meant to hand his title over to his son but his son wasn’t a good alpha he would play around gamble and drink abusing his title. So his father told him he would only give him the alpha title if he deserved it. But when he was killed by power hungry rogues the alphas son took over I was only a few years older than him and had taken over my role as third in command. I found my mate at the alphas funeral she was beautiful.”
I saw his eyes glaze over reminiscing about her than as if remembering the story he was telling his eyes glazed over and hardened.
“She was the most beautiful girl in the pack the sweetest and the most innocent it was the best moment of my life seeing her there. But when I tried to get to her the alphas son blocked my way and said that she was his mate not mine and that I was to leave her alone.”
I couldn’t help the sorrow I felt for Drew who could deny someone of their mate their other half I gripped his hand in mine to show he was not alone anymore. He looked at me showing his thanks through his eyes he cleared his throat and spoke.
“I knew I was not going to follow his order I could not my wolf yearned for his mate overriding his weak alpha command. We met in secret I learned her name was Gesibelle and that she hated the new alpha with a passion after a few months of our secret meetings we found out that she was pregnant. We knew we had to run or the alpha would kill us both and our unborn child we slipped out at night and have been running for three months know.”
He took a breath “I do not know what to do I was hoping to find a pack that would take us in but none look farther than the fact that we are rouges. I worry for my mate and child how I can give them a good life when I have nothing right know.”
“When we ran I only had a small amount of money I was able to take with me we do not even have a place to live apart from the forest I worry Gesibelle is 4 months pregnant know what will happen when the baby arrives“.
I could see the unshed tears of sorrow for the life he left behind but also a fierce determination to make his life better for his mate and child. In those moments I knew he spoke the truth but still felt I needed to consult with Lea my wolf.

With that I made my decision “Drew I believe what you have spoken to me is the truth and I shall tell you of my story and the kids so you can return that trust.”
And with that I had begun to tell Drew of my banishment from my abusive pack, my travels and
meeting the kids until I met him.
He looked shocked as I ended my tale “Leila I do not know how you could have gone through such a life and survived and looking after the kids as well your just amazing a true alpha.”
My wolf felt a surge of pride of being seen as a true alpha.
“If you wish you and Gesibelle can come and live with me and the kids we have lots of space you can
become a part of my pack” I said waiting for his reaction.
I saw surprise, confusion, uncertainty and joy flash through his eyes simultaneously. “Really you would let us in your pack” he said.
“Of course you have done nothing wrong and I have plenty of room for you guys at the house I
insist.” I responded I really did want them to join for he seemed like a good person and I would
never be able to forgive myself if I did not help them.
“Thank you Leila but what can I offer you if I join your pack I have nothing to give” he said
regrettably.
“You do, you can be my beta and can teach me how to fight and in the ways of a pack I wasn’t really
taught much by my old pack” I answered.
“I don’t understand you just met me and your already helping me no other alpha would ever do
that” he said with his brow furrowed.
I thought for a second then replied “maybe I’m just different, I understand what you have gone through and none of the hardship you faced was your fault, I cannot punish you for the crime of
others“.
He smiled “okay then I accept the offer alpha thank you“.
“Evan, Elise come meet a friend his names Drew him and his mate are gonna join our pack “. As I said this they both ran over hugging Drew welcoming him to our pack.
“I guess there’s only one thing left to do” I said.
“What’s that” Drew replied curiously.
