“Can you come to my office for an update please” I asked it’s always best to be polite if you want
respect.
“Yes alpha I’ll be right there” Mick answered and cut the link.
When we got to my office I sat in my chair behind my desk and groaned when I saw the paper work layered out before me. Though even when I am faced with piles of paper work I would never regret becoming alpha simply because of the people that I have helped and those that helped me.
A few seconds after Drew sat on the chair opposite me Mick came in and sat in the chair next to him nodding to us in greeting.
“Ok let’s get this started Mick I want you to tell me about the improvements made in training and the patrol“. My inner alpha coming to the forefront wanting to know the ins and outs of my pack.
“Alpha the fighters are all fine we had the few sent to train the Cledus pack return they were a bit ruffed up by an attack from rogues but nothing that won’t heal. We have just started training for pups its only human training no wolf training so they are learning the basics at the moment“.
He took a breath and continued “in a year we will start there wolf training so they can defend themselves. The patrol has been fine the last rogue was spotted over 7 months ago there has been no sign of them or the hunters. The patrol groups at the moment are headed by Nicholas, Marvin, Daniel and Trevor“.
He looked at me waiting for me to speak I thought over what he had said before responding.
“Mick I don’t want you to decrease the patrol keep it as it is we don’t want to get any nasty surprises from rogues. I think the patrol leaders are good but swap out Marvin for Jeremy for a couple of weeks he’s getting married next week.” I turned to drew.
“Drew what about that meeting you went to for the alphas” I asked.
“The other alphas are beyond annoyed that they have not met you they kept coming up to me to set up a meeting for them with you. The meeting itself was about the increase in rogue and hunter attack it looks like they are attacking weaker packs first. We might have a few more calls to train packs.” He answered.
“Hmmmmmmm……. it looks like they are becoming a bigger problem I think we should set a pack meeting to discuss this with everyone they have the right to know. Also I don’t want them going into town unprotected especially the kids. “I breathed rubbing my palms on my forehead to relieve myself of the headache I could feel coming on.

“I know that we haven’t had a real threat from the hunters and rogues but I would rather be safe than sorry.” They both nodded their heads in agreement.
All of a sudden the phone started to ring I picked it up
“Hello alpha Leila speaking”
“Hello Leila dear it’s me elder Drake I have some good news to share with you and your pack.” You could hear the smile in his voice.
“Hello elder Drake what’s this news you’re talking about” I asked confused.
“Your pack is officially number one, the Locus pack is the strongest pack” he laughed.
I could see the shocked looks on both Drew and Mick’s face they had already heard what Elder Drake said with their enhanced hearing.
“But what about the silver shadow pack they are a great pack” it is true all I had heard was good things about the silver shadow pack their alpha was believed to be a great warrior and is very protective of the pack.
“They have suffered an attack from rogues and hunters and the alpha is going through some problems at the minute. Your pack has been at the top for a while know this is just making it official” elder Drake responded.
“Thank you it is a great honour I guess that you will be announcing this to the other packs than” I asked I didn’t really want negative attention on my pack.
“Yes we already have you should be getting some calls from the other alphas congratulating you. Great I thought just great obnoxious alphas trying to make treaties.
“Goodbye Elder Drake” I put the phone down before he could reply sighing.
I could feel my wolf becoming restless for some reason but simply ignored it.
“So what do you think were number one” I asked.
Both Mick and Drew smiled and started laughing all I heard was
“You haaahaahahahahah just….ha ha put the haha phone down on an Elder.” I shot glares at them that got them to be quiet they stopped instantly looking weary.
My wolf was becoming more pronounced in her restlessness she wanted to get out something was wrong.
Protect pack, protect pup, protect what is ours.

Her growling was defining all of a sudden I heard a frantic yell through the mind link.
Alpha rogues and hunters have crossed into our territory.
I jumped up shouting through the mind link
Everyone get in the pack house now there are rogues and hunters on our land.
I looked to Mick “you stay with the elder women and children keep ten warriors inside and twenty around the house the rest are coming with me.” I stalked towards the door running out into the woods.
Nobody especially not those worthless rogues and hunters are going to hurt my pack.
We must protect our pack and our pup.
Pup? What pup?
