Xavier’s POV
Grandpa suddenly lost control of his emotions.
He pointed at me and shouted furiously,
“That mistress of yours hit Aurora with her car, made her deliver too early. The baby didn’t make it

“And her mom–she couldn’t take the shock. Just dropped dead right after.”
“Xavier, all of this… it’s your fault!”
I stood frozen in disbelief.
Looking around the room, I let out a cold laugh and tore the divorce papers in my hand into pieces.
“Grandpa, you’re too old for this. Stop playing along with Aurora’s drama. ”
“There’s no way she would sever the mate bond with me. She’d never give up the power and wealth of the Darkfire pack.”
I kicked over a nearby black funeral wreath.
“What’s the point of putting these gloomy things all over the house? Just because I didn’t come home to take care of the baby?”
“Well, I’m back now. Where’s the kid? Bring him to me. Have you picked a name yet? Does he look more like me or Aurora?”
Humming a tune, I casually looked around, but all the packhouse servants had their heads lowered, their faces somber.
No one answered me.
Seeing that, a sense of unease suddenly crept over me.
“I can’t smell him,” my wolf Rig muttered, confused. “I can’t sense our mate or the

I began searching the packhouse, room by room, my voice turning more tense.

Chapter 5
“Grandpa, I know I went too far last time. I shouldn’t have laid hands on Aurora.”
“But she already gave birth! You’re telling me she really severed the mate bond and left? That’s impossible. Just tell me where she is–I’ll apologize, comfort her, and bring her back.”
I never took Aurora’s anger or pain seriously.
Because I thought she could never truly leave me. No matter how cruel I was, she’d always stay- for her mother’s sake, she’d swallow every bit of the pain.
And now we had a child. She had another tie to this place.
There was no way she would cut the mate bond. No way she’d walk away.
Alpha Jareth slammed his cane down on me with full force.
“You ungrateful bastard! How did our pack raise someone like you?”
“You threw away a Luna as good as Aurora for a worthless omega.”
I scoffed and crossed my legs, lounging back on the sofa.
“So just for those tabloid rumors, huh? You’re all teaming up to teach me a lesson, right?”
“Grandpa, those women meant nothing to me. Just flings. Aurora is my mate, my Luna. I never planned to replace her.”
“If you don’t believe me, I’ll prove it to you right now.”
I pulled out my phone and called Amara.
“Did you like the wedding dress? I already bought it for you. But you’re not getting any younger- go find your real mate and marry him. And don’t ever show your face in front of me again.”
Before she could say a word, I had already blocked her without hesitation. Then I spread my arms and looked at Grandpa with a proud smile.
“Happy now?”
“Alright then, have Aurora come out with the baby. Fine–I’ll agree to stay home with her and the kid on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but I have to go out on Tuesdays Thursdays, and Saturdays for…”
Before I could finish, Grandpa, still trembling with fury, suddenly trembled.
He clutched his chest–and collapsed.
