“I’m not sure but I overheard a conversation when I had been locked in the cells after being tortured the hunter and rogues have specific instructions to eliminate you they see you as powerful though there was something else to it they were not just afraid but terrified of you” Zach looked at
me and took a breath before he continued.
“No offense alpha but there was no reason for them to feel this way there have been stories of your kindness and protective streak for your pack and yes they should be afraid but they were terrified when there was no need to be. It was like they knew something about you that we didn’t that scared
them.”
As Zach finished speaking he took in my expression to see if I was mad at him when he saw no anger he let out a shaky breath that he had been holding in fear of my reaction.
“Thank you for telling me this why don’t you go get something to eat and then some rest“. I said softly Zach nodded slightly bowed his head towards me and walked out of the office leaving me to my thoughts.
I knew I was different the fact that my wolf’s eyes were gold compared to everyone’s black was a reminder but what was there about me that terrified those rogues. As I thought about it I knew the only ones who could answer me where the elders I had to know what secret the elders were keeping from me that James had spoken of.
As if called Victor stepped into the room a frown on his face followed by Drew whose arm was bandaged up and Mick.
“What’s wrong?” I asked Victor.
“Alpha I tried to talk to the elders to come have a meeting with you but they refused and said that they were busy and had other matters to deal with that was superior to the needs of a pups pack.“As Victor said those last words growls filled the room how dare they treat my pack with so much disrespect when we were the ones who had been doing most of their work for the past few months.
Ever since a few months ago it had felt like the elders had been lying to me keeping something from me and know I have had enough. My packs safety was on the line they were going to come whether they liked it or not.
I grabbed my phone of the desk and started dialling the number to the councils head office after a few rings the phone was picked up by their receptionist.
“Hello elder councils head office how may I help you? “A cheery voice spoke through the phone. “Hello I am Alpha Van Derbergh of the Locus pack patch me through to the elders please” I said as

calmly as possible even though I was still fuming.
“I am sorry the elders won’t be taking your calls today alpha would you like to leave a message?” I growled leave a message, never going to happen they were going to answer my call whether they
liked it or not.
“I did not ask I told you and you are going to transfer this call to the elders and that’s an order” I shouted through the phone I was beyond pissed.
I heard a whimper through the phone and a click of buttons before I heard a crackling noise and the voice of elder Drake through the phone.
“Leila how dare you speak to our receptionist in such a way and command her we should have never left you in charge of that pack you are useless look what has become of you and that useless
pack of yours” I growled how dare this fool say such things to me about my pack.
Elder Drake used to be nice but I had quickly learned it was a facade that the elders put up to get
what they wanted and I wasn’t going to listen to anymore of the crap that came out of their mouths.
“Be quiet I have had enough of you useless elders you say all this about my pack how they are
useless yet you can’t even do your own jobs and rely on my pack for protection and to do as you say
but no more. The Locus pack is no longer following your rules you can protect yourselves.” I said
calmly through the phone.
“Nooooooo you have to protect us the rogues and hunters have declared war on the packs we need
you” Elder drake begged down the phone followed by similar remarks by the other elders.
I shook my head in disgust they said my pack was useless when they themselves were meant to
protect our kind and set the rules for our people and here they were begging. I had realised long ago that they all wanted the same thing power and greed.
“You all listen to me I am not requesting a meeting with you but demanding it you are to come to
my pack in the next two days or else you can count the Locus pack as your enemy. There will be no
more lies you will tell me what you have been keeping from me” I spoke with power laced through
my voice and as soon as I had said what I had wanted to I put the phone down not waiting for their
reply I know they are going to come.
I looked towards my pack members who looked shocked yet proud from my outburst.
