rrutially, some of Adele’s colleagues had assumed there was some romantic tension between her and Johnny Later, they learned that Adala already married with a grown–up child
However, Adele rarely discussed her personal life, so they had no real knowledge of her husband.
Given how beautiful and capable Adele was, the colleagues were curious about her husband. After all, what kind of man could marry thabeuita talented woman?
Now, Adele’s husband was finally in the picture, but to everyone’s surprise, Adele immediately turned the camera away.
As the others were about to tease her, Franklin spoke first: “Still working?”
Adele turned to look at him and replied calmly, “Mm.”
Franklin nodded and didn’t say anything else. He went to the wardrobe, grabbed some clothes, and went into the bathroom to shower.
Adele watched him go, then returned her attention to her work.
As the meeting continued, two female colleagues in Adele’s team couldn’t help but comment, “Your husband’s voice is so nice.”
Franklin not only looked good, but his voice was also incredibly attractive. Adele felt a bit embarrassed at the compliment and could only answer, “Thank you…”
By now, it was getting quite late. Everyone still seemed keen to continue working, but they all realized it would be bad to overwork.
Johnny decided to wrap up the meeting after dealing with the remaining tasks, leaving the rest for the next day or two.
However, the meeting was still ongoing, and Franklin had already finished showering and come out of the bathroom, while Adele was still working.
Just as Adele was still working, Isabella returned. She ran to the door and called out, “Mommy-”
Adele turned to look when she heard the voice. Before she could speak, Franklin had already responded, “Mommy is working.”
Isabella stopped herself from saying what she had planned and watched as Adele walked over to Franklin. She leaned in close to him and whispered, “Daddy, can I sleep with Aunt Julie tonight?”
Franklin nodded, “Sure.”
Isabella happily hugged his neck, forgetting to lower her voice, “Thank you, Daddy!”
Adele, seeing that the meeting was now over, closed her laptop and got up to speak with Isabella. But just as she was about to say something, she noticed Julia standing at the door.
Adele paused and pursed her lips.
Both Franklin and Isabella also noticed Julia.
Franklin stood up and walked toward the door. Not long after, the two of them left together.
Isabella, seeing this, was about to follow but stopped when she noticed Adele’s expression, which seemed off. She hesitated for a moment and quietly called out, “Mommy…”
Adele withdrew her gaze, then began tidying up the papers and books on her desk. She asked, “Did you shower?“
“Yeah,” Isabella nodded.

Adele didn’t ask who had helped her with the hath. Instead, she asked, “Are you tired?”
A little. Isabella responded quietly.
“Well, if you’re tired, go to sleep,” Adele said softly.
“Got it, Mommy. You get some rest too.” Isabella sighed in relief.
“Mm, I will. Good night.” Adele smiled warmly.
“Good night, Mommy.” Isabella also sweetly replied.
After speaking, Isabella walked over and gave Adele a hug before happily leaving the room.
Adele tidied up, grabbed her clothes, and was about to head to the bathroom for a shower.
When Franklin and Isabella left, they didn’t close the door.
Adele thought that Franklin likely wouldn’t be returning tonight. As she was about to close the door before entering the bathroom, she walked toward it and nearly bumped into him, who had come back unexpectedly.
Adele paused, stepping aside.
She thought Franklin had returned to grab something. After all, his luggage was still here.
However, Franklin casually shut the door as he entered. This indicated that he probably wasn’t planning to leave again for the night.
Adele was a bit stunned.
Before she had a chance to say anything, Franklin passed by her and walked into the room.
As he passed, Adele could subtly smell a trace of Julia’s perfume on him. Moreover…
There were lipstick marks on the back of his neck. His pajamas, which he had just changed into after showering, clearly had remnants of what had happened earlier that night.
Adele immediately realized that the lingering scent of Julia’s perfume and the kiss marks were fresh–likely from their passionate exchange earlier when they had been out together.
At the moment she first saw him earlier, she had noticed his lips appeared somewhat red, but she had dismissed it as a mere impression. Now, it was clear she had been right.
Franklin had already sat down by the bed, seemingly planning to stay here for the night.
This was rather unexpected for Adele, She had assumed–however, with the old lady’s eyes everywhere, it made sense that he wouldn’t sleep with Julia tonight.
This made Adele wonder: Did Julia come earlier to check on him, worried about what might happen between them?
Looking at the perfume on him and the lipstick marks, it was obvious they had shared an intimate kiss before leaving the room.
Adele didn’t want to think about it anymore.
Half an hour later, after finishing her shower and coming out, she saw that Franklin was reading a book.
To her surprise, the book in his hands was one she had brought with her. Adele’s expression darkened.
She wasn’t happy about him helping himself to her things without asking. Just as she was about to speak up, Franklin noticed her displeased look and said, “Do you mind?”
Adele was a little bothered, but after realizing that the book didn’t contain any sensitive company–related information aside from a few notes she had made when she first read it, she calmed down and replied, “A little.”
Franklin met her gaze and said, “Okay, I’ll ask next time.”
Next time? Adele thought to herself. She didn’t think there would be another chance where they were forced to share a bed due to being away from
