Thea’s POV
I stood in front of the mirror, admiring my reflection with genuine satisfaction. I’d styled my hair in a low side updo with a few curled strands framing my face, giving me an elegant yet effortless look. Tonight was my first real date with Sebastian, and I wanted something different–something that would make his jaw drop. I’d gone with a smoky eye and red lips, both sophisticated and sexy.
The wine–red dress I’d chosen hugged my curves, falling just below my knees. It featured a deep V–neckline held together by delicate straps, showing just enough skin to be enticing without being too revealing. The best part was the open back, which I was certain would drive any man wild.
I ran my hands over the soft fabric as I continued to examine myself. The dress clung to my figure in all the right places, and thanks to having Phoenix, I now had fuller, more defined curves that filled it out perfectly.
“Holy shit, girl, if I wasn’t straight, I’d totally hit on you,” Iris exclaimed with delight in her voice. “You’re so fucking sexy, even hell couldn’t handle your heat.”
“She’s right,” Sophia agreed.
They’d left hours ago, but we were now on a video call because I wanted their honest opinions. This date meant everything to me—my first real date with Sebastian—and I wanted everything to be perfect.
“Thanks, you guys,” I smiled.
I sat on the edge of the bed to slip on my heels. Honestly, I couldn’t remember the last time I’d dressed up or worn heels. Before, Sebastian almost never took me anywhere, not even to formal Pack events or galas, so I never really had a reason to dress up.
I wasn’t sure if that had changed later, but I guessed it had, because I remembered how stunning I looked when Kane came to pick me up in that memory flash. Pushing those thoughts aside, I focused on the upcoming date.
“I’m nervous,” I admitted. “What if we don’t click? I know we’re already married, but what if we discover we’re not compatible? Or what if something else horrible happens?”

Chapter 263
Fuck, this was hard. Part of me wanted to cancel the whole thing because I was so anxious and scared. Another part just wanted to take the risk and live in the moment.
I’d longed for this experience for so long. I’d always wanted Sebastian to pursue me, to woo me, but he was never interested before. Now that it was finally happening, I was thinking about all the ways it could go wrong.
“Stop it, Thea, you’re going to drive yourself crazy,” Iris scolded. I could see a figure in the background that I was certain was Roman, since they lived together. “Just live in the
moment. Put on your big girl panties and enjoy your dinner date.”
Sophia didn’t say anything, just nodded in agreement.
I took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. “You’re right, I’m overthinking things.”
“Damn straight. Be happy and enjoy tonight. Honey, you deserve happiness, and you deserve to be with the man of your dreams,” Iris said enthusiastically, her smile bright
and infectious.
After a bit more chatting, we ended the call. I grabbed my clutch and took one last look at
myself. Iris and Sophia were right–I did look sexy as fuck, and I loved how it made me
feel.
I walked downstairs, hearing Sebastian and Leo’s voices before I saw them. Sebastian had gotten ready in the guest room while I used the master bedroom.
I was nervous as hell, eager to see his reaction. I’d never dressed up for him before, so I
knew seeing me like this would be a surprise.
I found them in the kitchen. Sebastian was holding Phoenix, blowing raspberries on her tiny tummy. She was giggling, the sound warming my heart. Leo sat beside his father, looking sullen.
“Ready?” I asked, causing Sebastian to look up.
At first, he seemed stunned, then his eyes carefully took me in, slowly traveling the length of my body. I saw him swallow, his eyes darkening. Oh yeah, he definitely liked what he
saw.
“Dad, you’re drooling,” Leo snickered.

I couldn’t help but smirk. Slowly, he stood up and walked over. With one arm holding Phoenix, he used his free hand to pull me against his body and gave me a breathtaking
kiss.
I heard Leo groan behind him.
Using all my willpower, I pulled away from his kiss. “You’ll ruin my lipstick.”
“I don’t give a fuck,” he countered, his eyes still fixated on my lips.
“Are you ready? We don’t want to be late,” I asked him, stepping back from his heat that seemed determined to pull me back in.
If I said I didn’t love the way his eyes stayed locked on me, I’d be lying. This was a new experience, something I never thought would happen, so yes, I was enjoying every second
of it.
“We don’t actually have to go out,” he murmured, his voice husky and rough.
“You’re the one who wanted this date, big guy,” I chuckled, “so come on, it’s time for us to
leave.”
He reluctantly agreed, then called for Mary. When she came, he handed Phoenix over to
her.
“You look beautiful, Thea,” she said sweetly to me.
“Thank you, Mary.”
I kissed Phoenix’s forehead, then turned to Leo. He was glaring at me, so I guessed he was still angry. Nevertheless, I pulled him to me. He struggled a bit, but I wasn’t letting go. After hugging him, I gave him a kiss and wished him goodnight.
He said nothing, just stubbornly crossed his arms over his chest.
“Leo…” Sebastian growled his name in warning, angry at his attitude toward me.
“It’s fine.”
I didn’t want anything to ruin the mood tonight, so when he didn’t respond, I grabbed Sebastian’s hand, ready to turn and leave. I’d give him more time.

Chapter 263
“I’m still mad at you, Mom, but you look really pretty tonight,” his voice stopped me in my tracks and made me turn. The stubbornness was still there in his brow, but that didn’t
matter right now.
“Thank you, sweetheart.”
After that we left, knowing full well that Leo would come around. I didn’t need to worry because I knew him. He was my son, and this was his way of testing whether I’d give in and do things his way. Once he realized I wasn’t going to change my mind, he’d stop being stubborn.
“So, where are you taking me?” I asked Sebastian after we got into his car.
“You’ll see, I have a few surprises planned for you,” he answered. “I know you think I don’t know you, but I do, Thea.”
I smiled but said nothing. I doubted he knew me. Sebastian had never paid attention to me or anything related to me in the past, so I was certain he didn’t know my preferences,
but let’s wait and see.
I couldn’t wait to see what he had planned for tonight.
