Not far away, the two of them were chatting and laughing, and Benedict couldn’t help but feel irritated. She was always cold to him but polite to everyone else.
Hugh’s cloak was a new high–end design from Cerulia. Benedict wasn’t lly into brands, but he did recognize the brooch on his chest.
It was one of the gifts Francesca had given him. He had never worn it, never cared for any of the things she had given him over the past three years.
But seeing Hugh wear it now made him realize just how little attention he had paid to those gestures. It annoyed him more than he expected.
The Jensen family was one of the top cultural aristocrats in Rediff City. Hugh had made a name for himself at a young age, winning awards both domestically and internationally. But his real goal wasn’t in the art world, it was to break into entertainment.
With that kind of background, his opinions carried weight. Suzanna had always valued his talent and family history, wanting to create an image of herself as a cultured, talented woman.
She had tried to work with him more than once, but he had never agreed. She was the one who had announced him as the lead in her new drama.
At first, the public only speculated about it, but now it was clear that Hugh had no interest in Suzanna, even though she had won Best Actress. The art exhibition was live–streamed, and fans online were losing it.
“So the rumors are true. Suzanna’s fans, open your eyes, she’s just trying to use Hugh’s fame!”
“Exactly. She is just trying to ride on his popularity.”
“Forget that, who’s the beautiful woman next to him? She’s stunning!”
Suzanna had invited Benedict as a guest and even started a live broadcast, planning to show off her new role as Mrs. Landon. She thought that once she married into the family, everyone would forget about her past.
But then Francesca and Hugh showed up, completely throwing off her plans. Before her team could even react, Hugh’s fans were already dragging her through the mud.
And to make things worse, Francesca’s fans were all over her, praising her beauty. Suzanna was so furious, she could barely think straight.
With everything falling apart, she decided to shift the focus to Marley’s painting to grab some attention.
Suzanna forced a smile and said, “My teacher, at the age of 80, reached the peak of his creativity. This painting is his proudest work.
“The painting was done at my teacher’s old house. He and his wife were incredibly close, and he painted their old home to honor her.”
Francesca suddenly cut in, locking eyes with Suzanna. “Sorry to interrupt, Miss Mitchell, but you said this is a painting of Mr. Finch’s old house, right?”
Suzanna’s eves flickered. “Yes”

The room went silent for a moment before people started talking. Hannah was the first to jump in. “What nonsense are you spouting? How would you know anything about his painting?”
Francesca kept her cool. “Mr. Finch hated people who used his name to trick collectors. He wanted his work to stand the test of time, to be a true masterpiece.
“That’s why he destroyed over 200 of his paintings; ripped them up, cut them, and burned them. This one, too. He burned it himself. So how could it possibly be here now?”
This time, the comments went wild, and the audience started talking too. Even Hugh looked surprised. Everyone was curious how she knew all of this.
“Stop this nonsense if you don’t know anything! If you keep causing trouble, I’ll get someone to throw you out. What do you, an internet celeb, even know?” Hannah snapped.
She didn’t care about art, but she couldn’t stand how Francesca was stealing the spotlight. She wanted to bring her down.
Suzanna was practically losing it, her face going pale as she tried to defend herself.
Francesca ignored the chaos around her, keeping calm. “Mr. Finch taught at Thompson University for two years, specializing in landscape painting. All of his students know he destroyed his paintings. If you don’t believe me, ask him.”
With that, she turned to leave. The scene was buzzing, and Hugh followed her. “Francesca, did you take Mr. Finch’s class?” he asked.
“No.”
“Then how do you know all this?”
She smiled, but didn’t answer, thinking about whether she should tell him she was actually Marley’s true disciple.
