Chapter 31 Let’s Chat
Hugh had some doubts, but out of respect, it was inappropriate to ask. He could only drive Francesca
home first.
She fastened her seatbelt and asked casually, “You have problem with Suzanna?”
Hugh laughed dryly, “There’s nothing strange about us having a problem with each other. We participated in reality shows together. One night she was tipsy and knocked on my hotel room door. She wanted to seduce me, but I rejected her.”
Francesca raised her eyebrows. Why was Suzanna still flirting around when she was all about being Mrs. Landon?
“That’s not all,” Hugh continued with a hint of disdain f his tone. “On set, she bullies newcomers, puts down her colleagues. Her acting sucks but she always steals the spotlight. And her awards? All bought. She’s got so much dirt on her that it could fill a book.” He waved his hand after a few sentences. “Forget it, let’s not talk about her. It annoys me.”
It fell silent in the car. Francesca took out her phone and saw a message from Nina. Before she could reply, the car suddenly jolted as if it had hit something. She looked up and realized that the car ahead looked a little familiar.
Sure enough, Daniel got out of the driver’s seat to check for scratches, while Benedict stepped out from the back seat.
He was wearing a well–tailored suit. His figure was tall and straight, and his chilling aura was like that of mafia bosses in movies. He exuded an intimidating pressure that just could not be ignored.
He took a glance at Francesca, who was sitting in the car. There were complicated emotions hidden in his cold gaze.
Hugh cursed his bad luck. Of all the people he could bump into, he bumped into Benedict. Benedict was a ruthless and relentless man. He ruled with an iron fist and had a tough backing.
He whispered, “Francesca, stay here. Don’t get out of the car, alright?”
“Well, don’t get carried away with him,” she reminded him quietly.
Hugh was a public figure. Although the parking lot was empty, he was still worried that there would be paparazzi hiding in the dark. Not to mention that he was dealing with the head of the Mafia.
After getting out of the car, he tried his best to be polite “Mr. Landon. I’m sorry, but how much damage have you incurred? Shall we settle it privately?”
Benedict saw that Francesca had her eyes closed. He was upset that she did not even want to look at him. He recalled that at the art exhibition, she was chatting happily with the man in front of him. But now, she doesn’t even want to look at him.
As head of the Mafia, he was used to being in control. The loss of control made him frown.
He stared coldly at Hugh. “1 million dollars.”
The smile on Hugh’s face froze. “Is this a joke? You want a million dollars for this tiny scratch?”

declaring a sentence. “Ask the person in your car if that too high of a price.”
When Daniel heard what Benedict said, he couldn’t help but feel that Benedict was being unreasonable. Wasn’t it obvious that he had ulterior motives?
Hugh frowned. “Mr. Landon, that’s not very appropriate, is it?”
“I’m fine with calling the police too,” Benedict said indifferently. His eyes drifted threateningly to Francesca. “We’ll deal with it publicly.”
Hugh gritted his teeth. As an artist, he was most afraid of negative news, especially when it involved a troublesome person like Benedict. He hesitated for a moment before saying, “Alright, I’ll transfer it to you.”
“There’s no need for you to transfer it to me,” Benedict interrupted him. His voice was low, like an order. “Get her out to negotiate with me.”
“What do you mean? I’ve already agreed to pay!” Hugh was furious, but he still suppressed his temper in the face of the dangerous head of the Mafia.
“Tell her to come down, or I’ll call the police.” Benedict narrowed his eyes dangerously.
Francesca heard their argument from the car window and knew that Benedict would not easily give up.
She sighed and got out of the car. “Mr. Landon, shall we have a chat?”
