Chapter 50 Untimely Coincidence
“Hey, Jay…” Curtis saw Jay following behind them and wanted to greet him, but Jay did not buy it at all. Jay glanced at Benedict, and his gaze was no different from looking at trash. He snorted and left arrogantly.
Curtis was so angry that his lungs were about to explode. “Is there some ing wrong with Jay? He’s actually a simp for that woman! Look at how he’s simping for her. Isn’t he not ashamed?”
Benedict’s expression darkened slightly. He said coldly, “Aren’t you embarrassed enough? You’ve just come out and you’re already looking for trouble. Don’t you have a brain?”
“They are the ones who have gone too far!” Curtis took a few deep breaths and gritted his teeth. “I want to see what this woman is capable of to be able to subdue Jay!”
Benedict tried to persuade him not to cause trouble, but he could not help but follow him. He had only interacted with Jay a few times, but every time that guy looked at him, it was as if he wanted to swallow him alive. He an an inexplicable hostility.
As Layla led the way to the second floor, she chatted with them about the gossip of Montmartre Fashion Week. Her tone was filled with unconcealable excitement. “Our collection last season went viral. It was flying off the shelves in the West. I think we have to strike while the iron is hot and stage a big show to completely revolutionize the scene!”
“Are you still short of models?” Jay interrupted lazily. His fingers fiddled with the bangs that covered half of his eyes. “I can walk your show for free. I only have one condition–you have to let me partner with Francesca.”
His clear and alluring eyes flickered, and the shadows under his eyelids were like a meticulously drawn fog. He was like an exquisite doll, but there was a sense of playfulness in his tone.
Layla blinked at him and teased, “Hey, Mr. Sanders how would we dare to invite a big shot like you?” After saying that, she looked up and saw Mark waiting for a long time in the VIP area on the second floor. She quickly walked up and gave him a big hug.
Francesca looked at the two of them and smiled. She shook her head and said to Jay, “How can your family allow you to show your face like this? Especially your mother. She hates it when you appear in public in all these different things.”
Jay pursed his lips and muttered indignantly, “At least I can make my own decision now…”
Mark walked over and gave Francesca a warm hug. He patted her back and said, “Look at you. You’re doing well back home.”
After saying that, he invited everyone to take a seat on the leather sofa. There were dice, poker cards, and a bottle of freshly opened whiskey on the table. There was also a bucket of ice and a few whiskey glasses beside it. It was obvious that they were going to start playing. When Nina saw these, her eyes lit up and she shouted, “Come, come, come. Let’s play two rounds to warm up first. My hands are itching!”
Layla glanced at her and teased, “You’re not afraid of losing yet? Have you forgotten how they tricked you until you cried last time?”
“Hey Jay, what a coincidence.”
Curtis brought a group of people up to the second floor and saw a few familiar faces at a glance. Although

Jay was too lazy to look up. He picked up the wine glass on the table and swirled it around. He only said, “Coincidence indeed.” He didn’t even glance at Benedict from the corner of his eye. It was obvious that he didn’t want to show him respect.
Benedict stood in the shadows with his hands in his pockets, coldly scanning the group. The two bodyguards in black behind him approached silently. The cuffs with the eagle emblem of the Calabrian family were faintly discernible. He did not speak, but the invisible pressure had already made the air a little heavier, like a dormant cheetah that could tear open its prey’s throat at any moment.
