Wendy froze. She had no idea.
“Mrs. Hawk, Mr. Hawk’s left hand was injured because of you. That night, you slapped him, and then he stood outside your room all night. The next day, he had 23 stitches in his hand, and doctors said that if it had been any later, his hand could have been completely ruined.
