“You’re my biological parents, but you don’t love me. You never give me what I want. Ms. Olsen has always been there for me. Now, I want to be with her. Remember this–if anything happens to me, it’s your fault. You never did your duty as parents. You pushed me to this,” Jessica said firmly.
“Jessica!” Brittany’s face went pale.
Seeing Brittany’s reaction, Ida felt a rush of satisfaction. This was exactly what she wanted–to see Brittany suffer. At the very least, Jessica was the perfect weapon against Brittany.
Ida looked at Jessica. “Who do you want to be your mother?”
Jessica answered without hesitation, “I want you to be my mom.”
“Good,” Ida said, smiling with triumph. “Then call me Mom right now.”
Brittany tried to stop her. “Jessica!”
Horace looked at Jessica seriously. “You’d better think this through. If you hurt your mother like this… There’s no going back.” Yet Jessica stared at Ida resolutely and called out, “Mom!”
Jessica called Ida her mother.
Brittany felt the strength drain from her body. She nearly collapsed to the floor.
Horace tightened his arms around her. He could feel her trembling her body ice cold. He pressed his warmth against her skin, trying to give her heat, trying to give her strength.
Wendy stared at Jessica. “How could you turn your back on your mother?”
