“Your dad has been admitted to the hospital!”
Halsey’s face turned pale. “How come? We have to go see him right away!”
“Okay.” Patricia glanced at Yvette. “We’ll have to leave now.”
Yvette nodded. “Of course.”
Halsey followed Patricia out. Just then, Gilbert’s voice rang out from behind. “Halsey.”
She stopped and turned around.
Gilbert stepped forward, a smirk on his lips. “If you need anything, you know where to find me.”
Halsey frowned. “Thanks for the offer, but I don’t need any help from you.”
“Never say never. What if you do end up needing me? I’ll be waiting.”
Halsey didn’t understand what Gilbert was trying to say. Her mind was on her father, and she didn’t want to waste time with Gilbert. “Mom, let’s go.”
“Alright.”
Halsey left with Patricia, while Gilbert watched her go with a determined smile.
“Halsey, you’ll come to me.”
Halsey and Patricia rushed to the hospital as fast as they could. Inside the room, they found Cyril lying in bed. He was wearing a hospital gown, a thick bandage wrapped tightly around his forehead that had faint traces of blood seeping through.

Cyril’s expression turned serious. “Something’s wrong with Lincoln Enterprise.”
