She cut the conversation short, as she didn’t want to go down that road anymore.

Halsey held the golf club, quietly trying to absorb what he’d taught her. Suddenly, she felt a dark, heavy gaze landing on her again. She looked up–and it was Gilbert.
Gilbert seemed like a voyeur, constantly spying on her and Shaun.
Just moments ago, she had been helping Shaun with his jacket, and now he was holding her from behind, teaching her how to swing. Gilbert’s face was ashen with rage.
Halsey ignored him.
William spoke up, “Go ahead, Ms. Mallin. It’s your turn.”
Halsey smiled lightly. “Okay. I’ll try my best.”
She stood tall, lined up her shot, and aimed carefully at the hole. Following Shaun’s advice, she gathered strength in her arms and swung with precision and power.

The golf ball landed perfectly in the hole.
Halsey jumped, thrilled. “I won! I actually won!”
She ran over to Shaun and wrapped him in a tight hug. “Did you see that? I made the shot! We’re up two to one—we won!”
Her eyes sparkled with joy as she smiled brightly. Shaun looked at her with gentle warmth. “You’re amazing.” William chuckled. “You won fair and square. Looks like I lost. Shaun, you sure know how to pick them.”

Halsey raised an eyebrow. “Hard work pays off. I’ve always believed that if you put in the effort, you’ll see results.”
Gilbert’s expression darkened.
“Alright, since you won, as agreed, I’ll treat you both to dinner,” William said.
Halsey’s heart leapt. Finally, the most exciting part was here! There was still a chance for Lincoln Enterprise.
She was determined to save the company.
Shaun smirked. “Looks like you’ll be spending tonight.”
“No problem. We should freshen up first.”
“Sounds good.”
Because Shaun and Halsey were a couple, they were assigned to share a room.
Halsey glanced around the room, feeling a bit embarrassed. “Mr. Lane, are you sure we should freshen up in the same room?”
