Shaun nodded. “Yes.”
Halsey hesitated. “Maybe we should ask someone to book two rooms for us.”
She started to step toward the door.
But Shaun grabbed her arm and gently pushed her back until she was pressed against the wall.
“Wh–what are you doing?” she asked, surprised.

Shaun propped his hand against the wall, trapping her in his embrace. A playful smile curved his lips. “Aren’t we a couple? If you go out and have them book two rooms, and Willlam finds out, then our secret’s out. Do you want to get kicked out?”
Halsey shook her head quickly. “I don’t want to get
ed out! But doesn’t it feel weird for us to shower here?”
Shaun grinned. “What’s weird about it? Do you want to…take a shower with me?”
He emphasized the last few words, making Halsey’s eyes widen in shock. “Definitely not!”
“If you don’t want to, then we’ll take a shower separately. What’s weird about that?” Shaun challenged.
Halsey fell silent. He made a good point–there was no reason to feel awkward if they each showered by themselves.
Shaun soon spoke again. “William’s waiting to take us to dinner, Who goes first–you or me?”
“You go first,” she answered.
Shaun nodded. “Alright.”
He straightened up, released his hold on her, and turned to enter the bathroom.
Once Shaun’s masculine scent faded from the room, Halsey leaned back against the wall and took a deep breath.
His scent was different from Dwight’s. Dwight smelled warm, like sunlight on a summer afternoon. Shaun carried a cool, refined woody fragrance–probably some expensive cologne. After all, a struggling kid and a rising business star weren’t the
same person.
Still, why did she always catch glimpses of Dwight’s shadow in Shaun?
In fact, she had long suspected–could Shaun actually be Dwight?
The sound of running water flowed from inside the bathroom. Shaun was already showering, while Halsey sat down to review some fashion design sketches on her phone.
Suddenly, a soft, melodic ringtone rang out.
Halsey looked up and saw Shaun’s slim black phone buzzing on the bed.
It was his private phone, and she felt it wasn’t her place to check. Still, the ringtone wouldn’t stop, and she wasn’t sure if it was something urgent.
Shaun had helped her so much, so they were practically friends now.
Halsey stood and picked up the phone, walking over to the bathroom door. She knocked gently.
The water stopped flowing inside, and Shaun’s low, calm voice came through. “What is it?”
“Someone’s been calling you nonstop. Maybe you should answer it could be important.”
Shaun replied, “Bring the phone in.”
By now, he should be done showering and dressed.

Halsey’s small hand grasped the door handle, and she pushed the Bathroom door open.
But the moment she saw Shaun inside, her bright, clear eyes snapped wide, and she gasped softly before turning away.
