Chapter 48 Eleanor’s Acting
Chris looked at anor in surprise, then at his own hand. “I clearly didn’t touch Eleanor, but she’s accusing me?‘ he wondered.
“Chris, what are you doing?” a stem voice came from behind as Tyler strode over.
Eleanor looked at Tyler sadly and whispered, “While you were away, they bullied me.”
Chris stared at Eleanor, disbelief written all over his face. “You’re lying.”
“If you didn’t push me, how did I end up on the ground? Did I do it on purpose?” Eleanor said. “You bullied a little girl, and all I did was say a few words, yet you g got angry.”
“Yes,” Kitty said. “She was mean to me, and Eleanor scolded her, and then she pushed Eleanor.”
Chris glanced at Serena, who was still in a daze and hadn’t snapped out of it.
“Wendy, what really happened?” said Tyler.
Wendy hesitated. “It’s just that Kitty is being childish and talking nonsense.”
“Alright, I understand,” Tyler cut Wendy off, looking at Chris sternly. “You’re really disappointing.”
“Tyler, how can you be so unreasonable?” Chris said. “Why are you only listening to one side of the story?”
“Am I?” Tyler countered. “I’m just believing what I see. As for witnesses? Kitty is a child. You’d say she’s lying. Wendy is just a maid. If she offends you, she won’t have an easy time in the future.
Eleanor r pursed her lips, suppressing a smile. This whole act was quite familiar.
“Eleanor, you tell the truth,” Chris said angrily. “Did I push you?”
Eleanor slowly stood up, lowered her eyes, and whispered, “You didn’t. It was my fault. Tyler, don’t blame them.”
Chris’s face darkened even more, and he pointed at Eleanor.
“Serena’s face is so pale. You should take her to the hospital to get checked out,” Eleanor suddenly said. “But maybe she’s just guilty, which is why she’s so scared.”
“Shut up,” Chris said, realizing that Serena still hadn’t recovered and was indeed worried.
“It’s all my fault,” Eleanor sighed. “I suddenly thought of the little white cat I used to have. I forgot that Serena really dislikes these small animals. I didn’t say that Whitey’s death had anything to do with Serena Don’t opp to conclusions.”

Chris glared at Serena. “Eleanor, le tuin.
“How dare you yell at me?” Eleanor said in mock surprise. “You’re so rude. Why is your face so gloomy? You don’t like the way I spoke just now? Really? I thought you liked it.

Weren’t you like this before?”
“You’re doing this on purpose,” Chris said coldly.
“Am I? You don’t like it either.” Eleanor nodded. “I was just treating you the way you. treated me. Why can’t you take it?”
“I didn’t,” Chris said angrily. “When have I ever been so unreasonable?”
“At least you know you’re being unreasonable,” Eleanor sneered. “Tyler believes me, just as you believe Serena. What’s the problem with that? You think I’m malicious, and Tyler thinks Serena is. All because you only listen to one side of the story.”
“You could never compare to Serena,” Chris said angrily. “You’ve been bullying her all along.”
“Yes, and you’ve been bullying me too,” Eleanor said.
Chris stared at Eleanor, at a loss for words.
“Wendy, get back to work. Don’t waste time here,” Eleanor said, raising the packet of medicine. “I bought some ingredients at the nearby supermarket. Tyler, I’ll make your some Lemon Balm Tea.”
Chris looked sharply at Eleanor, his expression complicated.
“Tyler, I advise you not to drink anything she makes,” Chris said. “Before, when I had an upset stomach, I drank something she made and it helped, but ever since I broke up with her, I feel like my stomachaches are worse than before. She must have used some trick to make it addictive.”
“Here we go again,” Eleanor said. “Tyler, I was just trying to help Chris. He has a stomach condition that needs long–term care. Traditional medicine is profound and better than modern medicine.
“I even gave him a prescription, but he didn’t follow it and blamed me instead. I’m so
upset.”
“I won’t,” Chris said angrily. “How am I supposed to know how to cook it? You wouldn’t even let Wendy help me, deliberately making the process sound complicated. You just can’t stand to see me do well.”
“Tyler, we’ve broken up. He still wants me to take care of him. Now that I’m
he dares to be rude to me.
your wife,
“If it weren’t for our relationship, he’d be even worse. It’s terrifying,” Eleanor grumbled. ” Chris, is it really so hard for you to see me do well?”
Chris never expected Eleanor to change so much. He had no idea how to deal with what she was saying, so he just glared at her, picked up Serena in his arms, and left quickly.
Watching Chris leave, Eleanor shook her head and shivered. “He’s finally gone. His disgusting way of talking gives me goosebumps. I’m curious why he likes it.”

Chapter 48 Eleanor’s Acting
When Eleanor was in the kitchen, she noticed Tyler hadn’t left her side. “Tyler, why are you still here?”
“I’m afraid you’ll get bullied again,” Tyler said. “Let someone else make the Lemon Balm
Tea.”
“No way,” Eleanor said. “The proportion of each ingredient, how much water to add, how long to cook it, when to add rock sugar, and how much? All of it matters. It’s like making tea.
“For beginners, 0.1-0.2 ounces is best, and you must use boiled water. For experienced tea–makers, you can use a bit more, or it won’t taste good.”
Tyler laughed. “A simple thing like this has quite a few tricks to it with you.”
“It’s not like that,” Eleanor said. “Too much or too little is not good. And I always feel that something made by hand has a soul.”
“Okay,” Tyler said. “I’ll learn these things from you.”
Eleanor looked at Tyler in surprise. She wasn’t paying attention, and the lid of the pot jumped because the water was boiling. Eleanor hurriedly reached for the lid but got
burned.
Tyler picked up a cloth, took the lid off, turned down the heat, and then took Eleanor’s hand, holding it under the cold water from the tap. “Why are you so careless? I just said I wanted to learn. Why were you so startled?”
“It’s not that. But I think you’re different from some people,” Eleanor said.
“Everyone gets sick. Knowing some knowledge is a good thing,” Tyler said. “First, teach me to recognize the herbs.”
Eleanor asked, “Don’t you think traditional medicine is a waste of intelligence, and
modern medicine is the real treasure?”
“They shouldn’t be exclusive,” Tyler said. “Besides, traditional medicine is quite popular in Feylanor. Maybe only we locals are the ones who reject traditional medicine.”
“That’s right. Some people look down on traditional medicine while enjoying its benefits,” Eleanor muttered under her breath.
Tyler gazed at Eleanor, his eyes gradually deepening.
“Mrs. Eleanor, Mrs. Kara is looking for you,” a maid suddenly came to find Eleanor.
“Looking for me?” Eleanor quickly realized that Chris must have complained. “Alright, I‘ Il go see what she wants,
