The people who came to support the Red Flamor were basically the family of the team. members. So they cheered for them in happiness.
Debra and Abigail got up and rushed down the stairs to reach Luke to congratulate him.
Meanwhile, Ava was sitting on the seat.

From far away, she could still see that he was staring at her. It was as if his gaze was mocking her for testing him.

Ava could not believe he could do something like that for her.
Ava’s gaze moved when someone was waving at her. She shifted her eyes and saw it was Luke.
She got to her feet and walked down the stairs. She walked over to him and gave him a small

“Congratulations, Luke,” Ava said to him.
He did not reply, but rather than that, he pulled her into a hug.
Ava was surprised by the hug, but she patted his back as she could see how happy he was.
“I did it, Ava. I won the match,” Luke said, hugging her tightly.
She felt a pang in her heart.
She wanted Luke to win the match. But how could she not be pleased when he won it?

Ava’s gaze was drawn to Ian. His friends were talking to him. They looked enraged at him.
Luke broke the hug and cupped her cheeks, causing her to look away from Ian.
“Are you happy?” he asked.
Ava looked at Luke and nodded her head slowly. She lied to him. For some reason, she was unable to feel happy.
Luke smiled at her, but Abigail and Debra noticed Ava’s changing behavior. They silently
observed her.
“Ava, I wanted to say something to you,” Luke said, getting down on one knee.
Ava’s eyes widened, as she did not expect him to do that at the moment. She recalled what he had mentioned before.
He held her hand and looked into her eyes.
“Lu–Luke, don’t-”
Luke interrupted her and asked,
“Ava, will
you be my girlfriend?”
Ava was stunned. The people around them began to scream with cheering.
Looking at Luke, Ava blinked. She slowly moved her eyes.
Her gaze shifted to Ian. He was also looking at her from afar.
Ava’s heart trembled when he looked away from her and turned around. She watched him leave the field with his head lowered.
Ava felt something was itching her eyes. Her lips quivered. Blinking her eyes, she inhaled

She realized that tears dropped on her cheeks. She immediately wiped her tears and moved her eyes back to Luke.
With an embarrassed expression, she gazed into his eyes and uttered,
“I am sorry, Luke. I can’t date you. I tried, but it’s just that I can never feel for you more than a friend. You are my closest friend, and I promise you will always be the same in my heart. But I don’t want to use you to move on in my life. I really apologize. I can’t be your girlfriend.” 2
Luke’s smile froze. Everyone around them went silent.
Debra and Abigail were staring at Ava. They felt very sorry for Luke.
Luke loosened his grip on Ava’s wrists. He let go of her hands and tightened his fists tightly.
“What are you saying?” he said in a low tone.
Ava could not move her eyes away from him.
“I–I am sorry,” she mumbled.

He slowly got on his feet and backed away from her. “You still love him, don’t you?” he asked, stepping back.
After hearing his question, she looked away from him.
She could not help but realize in her heart that she still had feelings for Ian.
Luke let out a chuckle and shook his head. “You know your answer can ruin my victory; you still did that to this day.”
Ava gazed at him and shook her head. “No, I just didn’t want you to be in the dark. I didn’t want to-“}
He raised his hand to stop her. “Just leave me alone, Ava. I got what you want. You never wanted me. You… you gave me hope of something that I can’t ever get.“1
Ava closed her eyes, allowing tears to flow down her cheeks. Abigail and Debra approached her and stood beside her.
“Luke, calm down. She wanted to talk to you. But you were busy.”
“Talk about what? Isn’t she the one who asked me to date? Why is she taking a step back?”
Luke’s questions shocked everyone as they began to gossip.

“That girl cheated you, bro,” one of his teammates remarked, patting his shoulder.
At that time, Luke’s father approached him, who was watching everything from a little distance.
“Luke”
“Dad.”
His father took a quick look at where Ava had gone. With a smile on his face, he said,
“She is a mysterious girl. That little girl taught me a few things today.”
