Ava gulped when she heard him. She blushed hard. She took a deep breath and opened her eyes. She lifted her hand to touch his arm and pushed him lightly.
Ian was stunned. He thought he did something that she did not like.
“What happened?” He asked, cupping her cheek..
His eyes were curious and worried. It was like he was afraid that she would turn her back to
him.
He had finally gotten her; he did not want to lose her again.
She looked into his eyes and said,
“C–Can we start everything slowly?”
For a moment, Ian was confused. But then he realized what she meant.
For Ian, having sex or making out was nothing. It was just part of his daily routine with different girls. Whenever he needed to satisfy his desire, he chose a girl to do that. But in his eyes, Ava was totally different from them.

Ian examined her nervous face. He stood straight and removed his hand from her cheek.

Ian grabbed her hand and started to walk in a direction.
Ava noticed that they were going toward his car. She wanted to stop him but then she stopped herself from doing so.
People around them looked at them with curious eyes.
Ian came to a halt in front of his car door. He took out his remote keys and pressed them to unlock the car.

As soon as the car’s headlights lit up and the car made a loud sound, the girls who were sitting on the hood and trunk hurriedly came down.
“Move,” Ian said to them.
When they backed away, Ian opened the door for Ava and motioned for her to sit inside.

She got inside the car, and Ian closed the door. He came to the driver’s seat.
He suddenly moved closer to her, causing her to hitch her breath.
He smiled at her softly. “Don’t worry. I am just fastening the belt, baby.”
She heard him then a sound of a click.
People outside the car were looking at them with wide eyes. They could see what was going on inside with the open window.
Ian backed away and started the car.
Ava glanced at the jealous faces of the girls. She rolled her eyes at them and thought,
‘He is my man. You all should stop looking at him like he is some food and you want to taste him, huh!‘ she thought in her head.
The cold breeze touched her face as the car moved faster.
“Long or short drive?” Ian asked, glancing at her.
She liked it that her opinion mattered to him. He was showing her a new Ian who became soft and gentle.

Ava was interrupted by a ringtone. She pulled out her phone from her bag and saw her brother’s number.
“Oh, shit!”
“What happened?”
Ava gulped, looking at the screen, then said,
“It’s Stephen!”
“Receive the call; what’s wrong?” Ian asked while driving.
“No, no. I can’t receive it. He will scold me.”
“What? But why?”
Ava was silent. Ian’s brows shot up. “Wait a minute. Don’t tell me you didn’t let him know that you were coming to the car race.

“I didn’t tell him. He told me not to approach you today since you are in the race,” she tried to explain.
Ian let out a sigh, then said,
“Baby, it was a dangerous place, you know. You shouldn’t have gone there without notifying anyone. But it’s okay. You are not a kid that you need to tell him before leaving your house. I will go with you if you want to go there again.”
Ava blushed upon hearing him. She looked at her phone again, which began to ring after a brief pause.
“He must be worried,” she mumbled.
“Receive the call and put it on the loudspeaker. I will talk to him.”
She did what he had told her.
As soon as she received the call, Stephen’s angry voice roared throughout the car.
“AVA, WHERE ARE YOU?”
Ava cleared her throat and replied,
“B–Brother, I—”
“Do you know how worried I was? When did you become so careless?”

“Will you argue with your Alpha?” Ian asked with a deep tone.
Ava glanced at him to see if Ian got mad. But she found him calm.
“Right now, I am not your soon–to–be Gamma but her brother. So get her back home as soon as possible, bye.” 1
Stephen cut the phone. Ian shook his head and muttered,
“Your brother is very strict when it comes to you.”
