The whole class was silent as the professor began to scold a girl.
Ava lowered her head, hiding her face with the book to ignore the professor’s angry face. She was afraid that she would be his
next target.
She paused when she heard a chuckle from next to her.
She turned her head and looked at Robin, who was sitting beside her.
“What’s so funny?” she asked.
“Why are you hiding, Ava?” he asked.
He was a little gentle when he talked to her. Ava always felt that he was a calm boy who only liked to study like her. Because whenever they talked, they only talked about studying.
“We haven’t finished our assignment yet. The deadline is coming Have you forgotten that?”
Her question was obvious because, though the last few days they worked on it a lot, they had to focus on other subjects too. So they could not complete the assignment yet.
“Don’t worry. We will complete it in two or three days.”
“Really?”
Robin smiled at her and replied,
“Trust me.”
Ava let out a sigh of relief. Robin grabbed the book and moved it away from her face.
“Now stop hiding,” he said with a laugh.
Ava shook her head with a chuckle. The class continued, and Robin talked about how he wanted to go abroad.
“But you are currently studying at the best university.”
“Yeah. But as I told you, I had a dream to settle outside. I have memories of my parents here, so I don’t want to stay here anymore. Those are all bitter memories. I want to go outside and start a new life.”
Hearing Robin, Ava realized that his life was kind of the same as hers.
Indeed, changing the place could help people to move on in their lives. Just like how she and her mother escape from their old pack, ‘The Thunder Howl Pack‘.
Suddenly she remembered how her mother always alerted her to stay away from that pack’s people.
Sometimes she wondered how that pack looked now. She had faint memories of that pack. Because she was only a child when she left the pack.
“Do you know anything about the Thunder Howl Pack?”
“What?”
Robin’s surprised voice caused her to come back to reality from her thoughts. She realized that she unconsciously asked him about that pack.
Robin tilted his head to look at her face. “Why did you suddenly ask about that pack?”
Ava looked at him and asked,
“Why not?”

Robin glanced at the professor and muttered,
“I know many things about that pack. Wanna grab some coffee and talk?”
She frowned at him. He grinned at her.
She gave it a thought and nodded her head. “Okay,”
After all the classes were over, Ava took her leave from her friends and met Stephen.
When she did not see lan with him, she asked,
“Where is lan?”
“He is busy right now. Alpha called him at the pack house so he had to go there,”
Ava was stunned. “everything alright there?”
Stephen gave her an assuring nod. “Yeah. Something happened related to our pack business. Don’t worry I am also heading to the pack house. Alpha called all of us,” Stephen said, signaling to all his friends who were talking to each other.
“Oh,” she mumbled.
Stephen left the campus after talking with her.
Ava wanted to call Ian to ask if everything was alright. But she paused and thought that he might be talking with his father.
He and his father’s relationship was not that good, so if they got an opportunity to talk, she should not disturb their family time, and since Stephen said it was urgent, she should wait for him to call her later.
She was standing out of the university, thinking about these things, when someone patted her shoulder.
She turned around and found Robin.
“Forgot about our coffee date?” he asked with a grin.
“Coffee date?” she asked with a surprised look.
He let out a laugh and replied,
“Just kidding. How can you forget that we planned to go out for coffee?”
“Oh, yes.”
She recalled telling him that she would go with him.
Robin led her to a coffee shop that was very close to their university.
They chose a table near the window and ordered coffee for them.
“Then tell me what you know about that pack.”
“May I ask why that pack suddenly grabs your attention?”
“No.”
“That was savage.”
Ava smiled at him, knowing that he was a good guy. So she said,
“Ian doesn’t like that pack at all, so…”
“Oh, I see.”
When their coffee arrived, they took a few sips.

Ava paid her all attention to Robin when he started to speak.
“If you ask me why lan doesn’t like that pack, then I have something to say, but I think you won’t like it to hear.”
Ava’s brows arched when she heard him. Stephen once told her that lan and the Alpha of that pack had a rivalry when she questioned him about it.
But still, she asked Robin,
“Why?”
He shrugged his shoulders and said,
“Forget it. Let me tell you about that pack. Their Alpha is the reason that the pack has risen to the top. In our modern society, that Alpha is the biggest bad boy. He only cares about business, as he does not believe in mates and all.”
Ava rubbed her forehead as she muttered,
“What is with everyone’s obsession with bad boys? Is that even a title?”
Robin shook his head and sipped his coffee again.
“No. It’s a reputation that stops people from approaching them. It made others believe that they are not easygoing.‘
Ava stared at him for a while, then sighed. “Okay. But what about the war that happened many years ago? Is there any news of them grabbing the old pack members‘ families and punishing them?”
This was the main question Ava wanted to ask from the beginning. Since he knew about that pack, he might have known about it
too.
“No way. Why would they even think about the old pack members?
Robin’s answer caused Ava to feel relaxed.
‘Mom, you were worrying for nothing,‘ she thought.
Suddenly she recalled Robin saying something he knew but would not say.
“Tell me why Ian did not like that pack.”
“Do you really want to know that?” Robin asked carefully.
“Yeah.”
He averted his gaze away and replied,
“Ian has a childhood secret lover who belongs to The Thunder Howl Pack.”
