Sitting at the airport while waiting for a flight, Ava was looking around her surroundings.
She had never traveled out of the pack. She was tipping her legs of the floor, watching the people with their families and partners. Either they were going on a vacation or going outside to study or work.
Her face was pale. Her mind was lost somewhere else despite staring at the people before her
She felt all alone. Her heart was empty. Her tears had dried and could not come out of her eyes anymore.
She looked tired, weak, and exhausted.
As last night she decided to leave the pack, she booked a ticket for Her tonight. She had some savings that her mother had given her before her wedding to Gamma Harper.
She looked down at the bank card in her hand.
She had used a lot of that card at her mother’s wedding. She recalled that she had bought a watch from lan on that card as well. It was his birthday present.
She remembered how they spent the whole day together, and lan confessed to her for the first time.
Ava closed her eyes, realizing that Ian was everywhere in her head and heart.
Her mind could not work the moment she thought about him.
She was afraid that his memories would haunt her every night, just like her father’s death. How would she pass her days in another pack?
Suddenly, she noticed a few girls rushing toward the television installed in the middle of the area.
She turned her head; her gaze followed them. They gathered around the television, which prevented Ava’s sight from watching what news was going on there. She tilted her head when she heard the sounds of a reporter. 1
“A serious car accident! It is not an easy one. It is such shocking news that—”
Ava’s attention was drawn away from the news by the loud sound coming from the counter’s speaker.
She realized it was time for her to leave. They were instructing the passengers to board the plane because it was time to take off.
Ava rose to her feet. She turned around and took one last look around.
After boarding the plane, she took her seat. This would be her first time boarding. If she had arrived here a few months ago, it would have been exciting for her. But right now, she felt lifeless inside. She did not feel any rush of excitement. Instead, she was heartbroken at leaving her pack and family.
As she settled into her seat after fastening her seatbelt, she remembered how Ian used to fasten seatbelts for her whenever she got into his car. He used to use it as an opportunity to tease her and get closer to her.
She wiped the corners of her eyes, finding it difficult to breathe.
She felt bad for her family, especially her mother. She did not tell them that she was leaving.
She only sent them a message, or you could call it a letter.
In that message, she tried to express her gratitude toward them.
She checked her phone and glanced at the message that she had sent to three different people.
“Mom, Dad, and Stephen, you three are my family. I love you three a lot. But I apologize for not informing you before making ‘such an important decision in my life. I am leaving this pack. I understand it will be difficult for you to accept, but I have to leave. I want to travel and study abroad. I want to live independently and establish myself. Don’t worry, Mom, I am not a kid. be concerned about me. I will be file, I promise. Do not worry if you can not reach me at this number. I will contact you soon.”
Ava let out a deep breath. She was using a new phone since her last phone was broken. She did not repair it because it would remind her about that traitor Robin and the incident that had happened to her.
Everyone said that Robin had fled away from the pack because he was afraid fan would kill him. Ava wanted to kill that boy to ruin her life.
Ava fell asleep during the flight.
When her eyes opened, the plan was bumping hard.
“What is going on?” She inquired, her gaze drawn to the passenger seated beside her.
The woman appeared to be shocked as well.
Then they heard that the weather was bad, so the plane landed in aback to wait for it to clear.
Ava was not concerned. She got off the plane like the other passengers.
While walking through the airport, she noticed that everything was different there from her pack. The people looked different, especially their eyes. In fact, she sensed a different power emanating from them.
Their blue and green eyes caught her attention as they reminded her about the blue–eyed boys.
Ava paused for a moment and asked a lady who was about to walk past her.
“Excuse me?”
“Yes?” the lady asked.
“Which pack is this?”
Her question took the lady by surprise. “You are here, and you don’t know where you are?”
“Well, my plane landed here due to bad weather.”
“Oh,” the lady said.
Ava waited for her reply, glancing at the other people. But then she heard the lady’s reply, which shook her from inside.
“This is the Thunder Howl Pack. I hope you have heard of this pack before.”
Ava’s eyes widened, which confused the lady. But she was in a hurry, so she only gave her a small smile before leaving.
Ava felt an unknown fear grip her heart unexpectedly.
She reinembered what her mother had told her about the pack. She bit her bottom lip, pondering how to hide herself. After thinking a lot, she came to a conclusion.
“No one will recognize me,” she said to herself as she began to walk ahead.
Her gaze was drawn to the food court. She was starving. She paused for a moment and then decided to eat something.
As her gaze was focused there, she failed to notice someone was walking from the opposite way.
Ava felt like she had collided with a hard chest.
She rubbed her forehead.
However, as her gaze moved up, she came across a pair of dark brown eyes.
A deep voice shook her from inside.
