Ava waited for Dane’s reply as she stared at him. He was quiet and serene, not how people portrayed him.
She did not wonder if they were lying about his cold personality. Because she had witnessed it herself four years ago.
It was the time when he stopped her from leaving this pack. She was confused and startled. She felt like he was caging her here.
However, over time, she realized where she belonged. She realized how far she was from the truth.
Her mother was wrong when she told her that this pack was unsafe for her. The truth was that she believed this was the safest pack for herself.
Or perhaps the Alpha of this pack made her feel that way.
Ava could see his brown eyes focused on hers. He seemed to say nothing.
Ava lowered her tone a little more as she asked,
“What happened?”
Dane was once the most feared man in the werewolf community. He was the biggest bad boy she had ever met in the past. She was well aware of his brutality and cruelty toward his enemies.
Dane’s eyes shifted from her eyes and moved down. She felt his gaze sweep over her body before settling on the ball she was stopping with her leg. He let out a deep tone, clearly audible to her
“Wanna play?”
Ava’s smile froze.
She lowered her gaze and looked down at the ball. His question was very familiar to her. It made her think of someone from her past. It was the same question he had once asked her when he taught her to play basketball for the first time.
“Ava Adler, where are you lost?”
Dane’s voice pulled her back to present; she bent down and grabbed the ball, then tossed it to him.
With one hand raised, he grabbed the ball.
“Do all the bad boys like to play basketball?” she mumbled, looking at him.
He frowned a little, but then his frown eased as a smirk lifted the corner of his lip.
“Maybe.”
Ava let out a sigh. She walked toward him as if she agreed to accompany him in playing.
The sounds of the ball hitting the ground started to resound. Ava’s face had a bright smile while she was playing basketball.
She became a pro. Maybe it was because she had been playing with him many times. He had won a basketball championship. As Ava watched him play, she could only feel awe.
When she snatched the ball away from him and threw it to the basket from a far distance, it went smoothly inside.
Dane turned to look at her and asked,
“Where did you learn it? Only well–practiced players can achieve their goal like that.”
Ava looked away from him, remembering where she had learned if from.
Her eyes closed for a moment, but then a face appeared in front of her, prompting her to open them.
Where did she learn that? From a person. She did not want to remember him. Not after so many years, she had successfully

“Just someone. I can’t remember,” she replied.
Dane nodded his head, approaching her with slow steps.
She raised her head to look at him. She calmed herself from the dismay of the past and tried to smile at him.
Dane stopped in front of her, looking at her carefully.
“What happened? I think you want to say something. Otherwise, you have never called me so urgently before,” Ava said, waiting for his response.
He stared at her for a while, then averted his gaze and replied,
“I caught a traitor today. I tried to kill the man.”
Ava’s smile faded when she heard him. She blinked her eyes and lowered her head.
She almost took a step back when he spoke again.
“But I didn’t kill him because I remembered my promise to you.”
the most catchy feature in his face. She raised her gaze to look at him again. He was a really handsome man. His eyes were There were many things that had happened in the last four years. Everything had changed gradually as well as this man. The man who was once referred to as the biggest bad boy has begun to show mercy toward others. Though he was unable to change his cold demeanor toward others, his behavior did change significantly.
All because he made a promise to a woman.
Ava felt warm feelings in her heart.
Who knew that a simple promise could make such a big difference for the bad boy?
“Are you pleased?” he asked.
Other women in the pack might be shocked by his gentle tone, but not Ava. She had gotten used to it over the last six months. Something happened six months ago, which caused her to change her perception toward him.
She nodded her head and replied,
“Yes, I am.”
Dane stared at her smile silently. Ava turned around and found a towel on a bench. She hurriedly grabbed it and passed it to him. After removing the towel from her hand and beginning to wipe his sweat, he inquired, “Have you eaten your dinner yet?”
“No, I will. I have to leave now. When I return home, I will have dinner.”
He started to walk ahead while saying,
“Have dinner with me, then leave.”

It was clear that he did not want to hear no. She sighed and agreed with him.
Later, she had dinner with him and left the villa, His driver dropped her at her house.
After changing her clothes to a set of pajamas, she lay on her bed.
She was scrolling through the recent articles that surrounded all the packs. They all were important news. She was checking if she could find something related to fashion designing.

However, her thumb froze on an article.
With hesitation, she clicked on it. Her eyes grew cold as she saw a man’s name in bold letters.
But inside the coldness, there was sorrow that began to spread. She blinked her eyes and calmed herself, then started to read the
headline.
“Alpha Ian Dawson is rumored to be visiting the Thunder Howl Park.”
Her hands started to tremble. But she kept them under control and continued reading the article.
It is not unknown to anyone how powerful the Mystic Shadow Pack is right now. It is because of Alpha Ian. When he sat on the
throne, he altered the perception of the business world. He has taken over the title of the biggest bad boy and is now the most successful Alpha that anyone is afraid to mess with.
