“I can walk.”
Ava said when Dane picked her up in his arms and walked into her house.
He stood near the couch in the living room. Ava’s cheeks flushed when she noticed how messy the couch was. She wanted to slap herself for not cleaning it before leaving her house.
Who thought the head Alpha of the pack would come to visit her house?
Dane glanced at her red face, then grinned. He did not put her down on the couch. He made his way to the door of her bedroom.
He put her on the bed and said,
“Let me see your leg.”
She blinked her eyes, staring at him without any reply.
He looked into her eyes, which he found really innocent. His eyes then moved down to her body, which was wrapped around with his suit jacket.
He grabbed the stool near the bed and sat on it.
Ava gasped when he grabbed his ankle.
She shook her head and mumbled,
“W–What are you doing?”
He did not listen to her. He took off her high heel and placed her leg on his thigh. When he moved her leg, the suit jacket slipped down from her thighs.
She parted her lips when she felt his fingers run around her ankle.
His eyes were focused on her ankle, where he could see red skin. However, his gaze moved slightly and drew to her exposed thighs.
She froze when she noticed his gaze. She lowered her lashes, biting her lower lip. She shifted the jacket from her shoulder and moved it over her thighs.
Dane quickly shifted his gaze and took a deep breath. He started to move her ankle again.
“Aouch!”
She let out a moan in pain. It caused him to pause.
He looked at her. “Here?”
She nodded her head as she could feel the pain.
“Look at me,” he said.
“What?” she asked as she looked at him.
With a quick move, he twisted her ankle.
Her eyes widened as she felt a sharp ache in her leg.
“Aahh!”
Dane stared at her until she calmed herself.
“Y–You! You want to break my leg!” she said, trying to move her leg.

He gripped her ankle tightly and said,
‘Move.”
“What?”
“Try it. Move it in a circle.”
She frowned at him and moved her ankle.
She was shocked. She felt no pain in her leg.
Did he just remove the pain from her leg?
Seeing her reaction, he smirked and asked,
“No pain?”
She nodded her head frequently. “Are you a doctor?”
He chuckled and slowly moved down her leg to the floor.
“No, I am your Alpha,” he replied calmly.
Ava averted her gaze when he called himself ‘your Alpha‘. Though it was normal to call himself that because he was the whole pack’s Alpha. But there was something in his tone that caused her heart to move a little.
She knew she liked this man. He won her heart. 1
People used to call him cruel, but he was always soft with her.
As she was observing him, a ringtone began to ring in the room. It was his phone.
He pulled out his phone from his pants pocket.
Ava glanced at the screen. Her gaze paused when she noticed the caller’s name.
“Freya”
She looked away and mumbled,
“Your favorite woman is calling.”

He looked at her and asked,
“Favorite woman?”
“Hmm.”
He did not receive the call and muted his phone to ignore it.
“Who said she is my favorite woman?” he asked.
She avoided his gaze and replied,
“Everyone knows about it, Alpha Dane. It’s nothing new.”
He was quiet for a while. But his eyes were on her
She moved her gaze to look at him and found him staring at her.
“What? Did I say something wrong?”
“She is no longer my favorite woman.”

up once again, indicating that Freya was calling him again.
“Receive her call. It must be urgent. After all, is your girl-
He corrected her by saying,
“Ex–girlfriend.”
“Yeah, ex–girlfriend.”
Dane sighed and glanced at his phone. His eyes shone with a little hesitation. He waited for a moment so that Freya could cut the call. But she called him again and again. Lately, he received the call
“What?”
Ava was stunned when she heard his chilly tone. He was not this cold while talking to her.
“Why would I come? Am I your servant, Miss Harrison?”
Ava rubbed her palms against each other, not knowing how to handle this angry man later.
“Stop crying over a pity thing. I am not going to cancel anyone just because he offended you.”
Except for Dane’s angry tone, there was silence around the room.
Ava could hear Freya complaining about a boy offending her. She seemed to have a really serious problem. She wanted him to go to her and solve the situation.
When Dane hung up, his eyes met hers.
Ava gulped, thinking about how to speak to him to make him calm.
“Alpha.”
Her sweet tone almost faded the darkness in his eyes. His gaze softened toward her.
“Don’t get mad.”
“I can’t be mad at you.”
His simple answer caused her to blush. She lowered her head, blushing red from the gentle treatment.
“I think it’s urgent. You should go to her.”
“No need. His brother can handle it by himself. She intentionally called me instead of calling him.”
Ava raised her gaze and said,
“You are the head Alpha. She is your beta’s sister. Don’t be mad at her. If she were in trouble, Beta Bruno would be upset with you.”
Dane did not agree at first, but then he nodded his head and got up from the stool.
He touched her head and stroked her hair. She closed her eyes as soon as she felt his touch on her head.
“Be a good girl and take some rest. You don’t need to come to the office tomorrow.”
