Standing on the balcony, a man was gazing at the moon, which was shining, so brightly that it was almost blinding. In one hand, he was holding a cigarette, and in the other, he was holding a glass of wine.
His gaze was fixed on the moon, and his eyes were sharp as he continued to stare at it. He was challenging his light to shake his gaze.
A few light footsteps came from behind as Assistant Neon entered the balcony.
He looked at his Alpha, who was looking at the moon. His black attire glowing in the moonlight almost stunned Neon.
He had been working with him for three years. All these years, he had never seen him smile brightly. He always looked at others coldly, as if he were not pleased with anyone. He had seen the growing success that he had achieved with the passing years. “Alpha.”
Ian did not turn around when he heard his assistant, Neon’s voice.
He raised his hand, which was holding the glass, indicating him to continue.
“Alpha, Gamma Stephen is calling you.”
Ian moved his eyes away from the moon. He placed the glass on the frame of the railing and asked,
“Why is he calling?”
His voice caused Neon to lower his gaze. He replied,
“He was asking if he could go to the City Moon Pack.”
Ian’s eyes darkened. With a low tone, he muttered,
“City Moon Pack…”
Neon glanced at his back and cleared his throat.
“Alpha, tonight… wasn’t that Gamma Stephen’s sister in that club?”
Ian’s eyes did not move after hearing his question. Since he was quiet, Neon continued to speak.
“Why is she here? Didn’t Gamma Harper mention that she lived in the City Moon Pack? It looks like she has been lying to her whole family while living here in the Thunder Howl Pack. What could be the reason?”
Ian took a long, deep puff in, held the smoke in his mouth for a few seconds, and then exhaled deeply to release the smoke from
his nose.
Neon did not dare to move forward. He stared at his head Alpha.
He was two years younger than Ian.
When Ian became the pack’s Alpha, Neon had just graduated from Mystic Shadow University.
So he knew Ava, but at the same time, he was not aware of the rumors of her and Ian’s breakup years ago.
In his three years of work, he had never heard or seen Ian talking about Ava.
Hence, when Neon saw Ava after so many years, he was curious about Ian’s reaction. But Ian showed no mercy toward club, proving that he hated her.

“I don’t remember Stephen setting you up for spying on his sister.
Ian’s voice sounded indifferent. But his remarks were sharp enough to make Neon realize that he did not care.

“S–Sorry, Alpha.”
“Pay all of your attention to the work, not the people around your work.”
“Y–Yes, Alpha.”
lan raised his hand and signaled him to leave without looking at lin.
Neon bowed to him before quietly leaving the balcony and oom.
The balcony turned silent again.
In front of Ian’s sight, it was the nightlife of the Thunder Howl Pack.
His eyes scrutinized the lights of the buildings under the sky.
He gulped on his drink, thinking about something. If people who knew him saw him right now, they could say that he was dazing out.
The next day Ian went to meet the men who were important for his business. They looked impressed that Alpha lan wanted to work with them.
Ian Dawson wished to merge a few companies and wanted them to work under him. He preferred to invest in companies that were in bankruptcy.
When it was business, his mind was sharper than the edge of a knife.
After the meeting with the other businessman in a private restaurant, Ian went to roam around the pack.
He wanted to see how people were living here. What was the main source of their living and how was it different from his own pack?
He noticed that this pack’s people were more hardworking than his own pack members. It seemed their head Alpha was way more strict than him to keep his pack members busy with work and make more money for themselves as well as the pack.
When it was evening, Assistant Neon thought Ian would go back to the hotel.
However, Ian said,
“I am going to the club. You can go back to the hotel.”
Neon recalled what had happened to the club last night. He gulped, thinking what if Ian ran into Ava again? What would he do? What if she would offend him once again?
“Alpha, if you don’t mind, I can accompany yo-”
Ian’s single glance made Neon eat his words. He lowered his head and nodded at him.
“I think you are right. I should go back to the hotel, Alpha.”
Ian went to the club and didn’t go to any private cabin. In fact, he sat in the lounge area. Girls were glancing at him while giggling.
Most of them did not know him. They knew his name but not his appearance. Only those who were connected to him through business knew him, as did their families.
It was the Thunder Howl Pack where the pack members only liked to focus their attention on their head Alpha only, ju people of the Mystic Shadow Pack.

When the manager of the club noticed that Alpha Ian was there, he rushed to him and asked politely,
“Alpha Ian, would you like me to get you a private cabin?”
Ian sipped his drink and replied without looking at him,

“A private room.”
The manager was not stunned. Many Alphas came here only to spend their nights here with beauties. So it was not surprising to
him.
“Sure.”
He smiled and looked around to signal his men. Two of them came to him. The manager handed them a key to a room and then
said,
“Take Alpha Ian to the presidential suite on the third floor.”
The men nodded their heads and motioned for lan to follow them.
Ian did not move, which caused the manager to frown.
“Alpha Ian, you can go and rest. I am sending you the best beauties who are available right now. You can choose whoever you want from them.”
Ian clagged down the whole glass of drink. He looked at the manager and said,
“Not anyone else. I want the waitress from last night.”
