Ava changed into Dane’s clothes. The white shirt and black trousers were bigger in size for her body. She managed to wear them by folding the sleeves of the shirt and rolling the waistband of the trousers.
When she came back to the living room, she found him leaning against the couch.
She cleared her throat. He turned his head and paused his gaze on her.
“You look good and cute in my clothes,” he remarked with a smirk
Her cheeks flushed. She did not respond and walked toward the dining table.
“Come to have dinner.”
In the middle of the way, she paused to see if he was following her or not.
Seeing that he was approaching her from behind, she continued to walk. She stood beside the table and gestured for him to sit.
He smiled at her and stood next to her. She turned to look at him.
“I talked to Rina a few minutes ago,” he said.
Ava was surprised to hear that. “I told you not to…”
He rubbed his forehead and muttered,
“I almost thought about killing her brother so that she would never have to leave her job for a night.”
Her eyes widened as she fisted on the shirt.
“But then once again I remembered about my good boy image before you and canceled my thoughts.”
Ava let out a sigh of relief.
Alpha Dane was not a joke. If he said those things, he had the ability to do that as well.
She was fortunate that he listened to her and began to be less harsh on others. Otherwise, she had not forgotten how he was when she first met him four years ago.
“Thanks,” she mumbled.
“For what?”
“For listening to me.”
“Anything for you.”
His simple words made her smile. She felt that she started to like him even more.
In her sorrowful life, did she not have a right to choose to move on? Why would she live a painful life when someone else was making an effort and giving her equal respect?
‘I wish I could show you what betrayal means in love, Ian. Then you would have realized how wrong you were before,‘ she thought. 1
Dane waved his hand in front of her face.
“Are you lost in the thoughts of any other man?”
“Huh?”
She came out of her thoughts and looked at him. She shook her head immediately and said,

“No.”
He nodded his head and said,
“Then it’s good. Otherwise, I am not particularly fond of rivals.”
She saw him sitting on a chair. His words sounded strange to her. It seemed like he had just talked about lan. Because his biggest rival was Ian right now.
When lan was not the head Alpha of the Mystic Shadow Pack, Alpha Martin still tried to keep a good relationship with the Thunder Howl Pack and with Alpha Dane.
However, Ian sat on the throne and changed every single thing. His actions were openly challenging Dane and this pack, creating the biggest rivalry ever.
Ava shoved her thoughts aside and began serving food on Dane’s plate.
As he moved to grab a spoon, Ava noticed something on his neck.
He noticed her gaze and touched his neck.
“What?”
Ava did not respond as her eyes were on a love bite on his neck.
When she fell silent, he turned to the glass window beside the table, which turned into a mirror at night. He glanced at his neck and realized what she was looking at.
He turned his head back at her and said,
“That’s-‘

“It’s okay,” she mumbled and faked a smile.
“Where are you going?” he asked when he saw her turning around.
“I think I should leave now.”
Dane got up from his chair and grabbed her wrist to stop her from leaving.
“Are you leaving for this hickey?”
“L–Leave my hand. It’s okay, you don’t need to explain anything.”
He pulled her toward him, causing her body to be pressed against his.
She looked at him with a stunned face.
He lowered his head and said,
“You have the right to listen to my explanation.”
She lowered her gaze, not knowing what to say. She liked a man, and maybe he had spent a night with someone else.
“Last night you told me to go to Freya. I solved her problem and thought of giving her a lift to her house. She was drunk and acted wild in the car. But I pushed her right away. Nothing had happened between us.”
Ava did not let out anything. He raised her chin to look at her face.
“Don’t you trust me?”
His one question shook her heart.
Did she really trust him?

Trust…
It was the only reason she liked him. When no one else trusted her he was the one who did.
she remembered how Ian abandoned her just because he had seen hickeys on her neck. She would never do the same.
She nodded her head and replied,
“Yes, I trust you.”
Dane smiled at her and pulled out a chair next to his chair.
“I always have my dinner outside. But when the guards called to tell me you had arrived home, I changed my mind and returned without dinner. Sit down.”
She heard his soft tone. She sat on the chair. He served food on her plate, then sat back to his chair.
They had dinner in silence like other times.
He liked to talk less while eating. She knew his habits because she wanted to cherish this man’s habit.
She glanced at him, watching him eat with perfect etiquette.
Who would say he used to be the biggest bad boy? He was getting calmer by the day.
After dinner, he praised her food. He said he wished to eat them every day. She knew he was just overhyping it to make her happy.
She laughed and took the dishes to wash.
He followed her and asked to lend a hand. She pushed him, saying that she had a habit of doing chores at home.
When Ava was done washing, she wiped her hands with a towel.
As she was about to turn, she felt a hand wrapped around her waist, causing her to be stunned.
Dane lowered his head, resting it on her shoulder.
“Ava, it’s been a while; we are together yet not together.”
She gulped as she listened to him until his next words caused her heart to race.
“Don’t leave. Stay here with me. Be mine; be my girlfriend, Ava.”
