The loud music was pounding. The thick air was filled with smoke and the smell of sweat was near the dance floor.
The bar and the lounge area were close to the dance floor. The second floor was for VIPs, but anyone could see them through the glass wall from downstairs.
Suddenly, there was a shift in the energy as all the eyes were on the entrance of the club.
Walking through the smoke, a handsome man walked inside the club.
His eyes held the smoldering intensity that cut right through the lighting.
Anyone could feel the temperature rise a few degrees as he moved through the crowd.
Ava averted her gaze away from him when a few young men approached him.
She noticed three well–known faces beside him. They were beta Ronald, Delta Paul, and Theta Cyrus.
“Looks like there is an important meeting today,” Debra whispered to Abigail.
Her whisper reached Ava’s ear. She could feel Abigail’s hesitation when she replied,
“I didn’t know about it.”
Abigail sounded upset. It was as though if she were aware of their coming, she would not have taken Ava here.
“I am sorry, Ava. I didn’t know Ian…” Abigail paused when she realized whom she was talking about. Then she corrected her words and continued,
“I didn’t know Alpha would be here.”
Ava glanced at Ian for the last time as he made his way upstairs with his friends.
She looked away from him and let out a shaky breath. She did not know how many more times she would have to see him. But if she kept living in the past, she could never move on.
She gazed at her friends. They looked sorry.
She smiled at them and said,
“Chill, guys. I don’t have any problem if he is here. I let go of my past.”
Debra let out a deep breath and nodded her head.
“It seems she has become a free spirit.”
Abigail still looked apologetic. Ava could feel how much her friends cared for her. She remembered how Abigail took care of her when she went to her house four years ago. She trusted her when her ex–boyfriend refused to trust her.
Debra had a question in her mind for a long time. So she decided to ask Ava about it.
“Why did you decide to leave the pack, Ava? You could have…”
Debra paused, as she did not know if she should say that at this moment.
“Debra, let’s not talk about it. I told what had happened, right?” Abigail scolded her.
Ava sipped her drink, quietly enjoying her drink. She gave them a reaction that she did not care about her past.
“It’s okay. I don’t think about that much. I would have returned if I hadn’t had a good life in another pack. The pack I am living in right now is a safe place for me.”
Both Debra and Abigail chose to ignore the past and enjoy their times.

Debra got up and pulled them toward the dance floor.
“Let’s dance.”
Ava and Abigail agreed. They followed the beat and started to dance
The three friends enjoyed their dance to the loud music. The heat was getting higher as their energy was boosted by the people around them. They forgot about everything and jumped with the beats.
After dancing like crazy for half an hour, they went to the bar.
“Give me a shot. Hurry!”
Abigail chugged down the drink. Ava and Debra chuckled at her actions.
As Ava sipped on her drink, her eyes unwillingly moved around until they shifted upstairs.
Her eyes stopped on Ian. He was sitting on the couch. His one leg crossed over the other. He was talking to some men while handing a file to one of them.
Since they were near the glass door, she could see them clearly.
“What are you looking at so carefully?” Abigail asked as she came to stand next to her.
Abigail was stunned when she followed Ava’s gaze. Her gaze returned to Ava.
“Do you want to talk to him?” she whispered to her.
Ava blinked her eyes and looked away. She did not know why her eyes always found their way to look at him.
“Why would I talk to him?” she asked.
“I know you have moved on. I know you don’t care about your past anymore. But Ava, I know there is something that is eating you inside. You also want to talk to him and clear the misunderstanding so that you can be free from the accusations.”
Ava was silent. Her eyes were on the floor. Abigail glanced at Debra Debra signaled her not to talk about it again.
Abigail sighed and hugged Ava’s arm.
“I am sorry, babe. When I saw you looking at him, I thought you wanted to
Ava raised her head and turned to look at Abigail.
She smiled at her and then replied,
“There is no misunderstanding between us. Everything is crystal clear.”

She recalled how many times she told him that day about her not knowing anything. She was trapped in a conspiracy. If he wanted, he could make everything right. But he decided on another option and ended their relationship.
Debra observed her for a while when she was talking to Abigail. She suddenly asked,
“Aya, are you really happy?”
Ava’s brows lifted. “Of course, I am. Can’t you see how much I am enjoying my life?”
“You never told us about your personal life. It’s been four years. Do you have someone in your life right now?”
Abigail frowned at Debra. It was as though she knew the answer, and it could hurt Ava.
However, she was shocked when Ava replied with a warm grin.
“I do have someone in my life.‘
