Debra and Abigail stared at Ava as they saw her walking to the corner to talk on her phone.
“Do you really think she has someone?” Abigail asked.
“It looks like so,” Debra said, sipping the drink.
Abigail looked away and nodded her head. “Then it’s good. She also has the right to live her life with someone who loves her.”
On the other hand,
Ava walked toward the corner where the washrooms were.
She went inside the lady’s washroom. Her phone started to ring again.
She received the phone call and placed the phone against her ear.
“Hello?”
The other side was silent. Ava felt nervous when she found the person quiet.
“Dane?”
Her soft voice caused the man to speak, even though he did not want to speak earlier.
“Where are you?”
“I am with my friends right now. What’s wrong with you? Are you mad at me?”
“When did you reach that pack?”
“At noon.”
“Why didn’t you call me to inform me? Or will your mom change your mind?”
She let out a sigh, glancing at her face in the mirror. Her hair looked messy because of dancing.
“Dane, please. Mom didn’t say anything.”
“It’s because you didn’t tell her anything yet.”
“I am sorry, okay? I… I thought you might be busy, or you would call me.”
Dane went quiet again.
Ava combed her hair with her fingers and murmured,
“You didn’t call me either.”
“My bad.”
She chuckled at his sarcastic tone. But his next question made her freeze.
“How is your mom? I thought you would be with her since she is unwell.”
Ava gulped, thinking how she would say that her mother had tricked her.
But she decided to tell him the truth. She did not want to hide anything from him.
“Dane…”
“What? She trapped you, didn’t she?”
Ava was shocked. “Y–You knew?”

Dane scoffed when she heard her question. “What do you think of the? I am aware of people and their actions.”
Ava lowered her head. She did not like it whenever Dane mocked her mother. It was true that he did not like her mother because she decided to stay in his rival pack. But because of her, she never talked badly about her mother.
“She wants me to stay here to celebrate my birthday.”
“Still two weeks left.”
“You know my birth date?”
Ava’s eyes lit up when she asked that. She thought he did not know
“Of course, I know.”
“Not bad.”
“What do you want for your birthday?” he asked.
Ava thought for a moment and then replied cunningly,
“What about behaving a little friendlier with your employees? They always talked about how cold you treat them.”
Dane could not help but laugh. “You make me want to be a better man. Is this what you have in your life now? Or can I say you don’t have anything else to think about except thinking about me?”
Ava bit her bottom lip as she did not know what to answer.
“Today my friends were asking if I had someone in my life.”
“What did you say?”
Ava smirked while looking at the mirror as she murmured,
“I said not yet.”
After a brief silence, Dane spoke,
“Does that mean other men still have chances?”
Ava laughed and decided to go back to the club.
“Of course. I am not bound to any man right now, you know.”
She chuckled while shaking her head.
But as soon as she stepped out of the washroom, she froze.
Ian was standing next to the door, outside the gent’s washroom.
“Let’s see what you will do when I am there next to you,” Dane said on the phone.
Ava could not reply to him since her eyes were fixed on the man a few feet away.
Ian was smoking. The smoke circled around him. She gulped and looked away from him.
“I am going back to my friends,” she muttered to Dane.
“Sure. Take your time in your pack.”
Ava said goodbye to him in a low tone and hung up the phone.
She saw Ian was smoking without looking at her. So she decided to ignore him. If she wanted to go back, she would have to walk past him.

When she walked past him, she felt relief that he did not stop her.
However, when she took two steps forward, she heard him from behind.
“I see you are busy with other men.”
She paused her steps.
Other men? What other men? She was busy with only one man whe was different from the others.
But she did not say anything.
“That doesn’t matter to you,” she said and started to walk again.
She gasped when a hand grabbed her wrist and pulled her back.
She glanced at Ian’s hand, which was holding hers, and turned her to him.
“Leave my hand.”
He blew out smoke and turned his head to look at her.
“It’s good that you took my warning seriously and came back. Otherwise, I had ways to make you do so.”
She stared at him. He was looking at her with a pair of cold eyes.
From far away, he looked stranger to her. From this close, he reminded her of her painful past.
Seeing her silence, Ian smirked at her and asked,
“Do you want a job here? What about being a stripper in this club? can talk to the manager for you. This pack has a bunch of rich men who can give you more tips than how you used to earn by sleeping around in that Thunder Howl Pack.”
His bitter words shook her heart.
She was surprised by his every word. Did he know how much those words hurt her?
She got mad at him.
She yanked her hand away from his grip and glared at him.
“Listen, Alpha Ian. I don’t care what you think about me. If my being with other men bothers you, then that’s not my problem. This is my life, and I can be with any man I want to be with. You are not my dad. You should be aware of your limits if you consider yourself to be a head Alpha.” 2
