u’s been four days since Ava returned to the Mystic Shadow Pack. These days, she wandered around the pack to see how it had changed over the previous four years,
Four days flew by as if she had just blinked. Ava grew closer to her mother, family, and friends. It gave her the unpleasant feeling that she would have to leave them soon.
She still had not told her family about her going back.
“Ava, good morning, my baby.”
Her mother, Angela, said when she saw Ava coming downstairs.
Ava walked over to the dining table to sit with her family. She settled into the chair next to Stephen.
She turned to face him, smiling.
“Good morning.”
He nodded and murmured,
“Morning.”
Ava’s smile faded away. She dropped her head.
When Stephen asked her why she cheated on Ian two days ago, she explained what had happened.
He was shocked. But one thing that she had seen in his eyes clearly was confusion. He was confused about whether he should believe in her or not. It hurt Ava.
However, she had no control over the situation.
If someone did not trust her, they could believe whatever they wanted. She was not going to convince anyone.
If it were four years ago, she would have done so. She would have cried, begging Stephen to believe her. But this Ava was different.
She had emotions, which sometimes took over her, but she remained calm and focused on her decisions. If she believed she did not care, that meant she really did not. That was the end of the discussion.
Angela sat in her chair after serving them breakfast.
“Today, come back early, Stephen. We will go together,” Angela said.
Ava gazed at her mother. “Where are you going, Mom?”
Angela looked at her and said,
“I was talking about the pack house.”
Ava frowned as she asked, “Why?”
Both Angela and Harper turned their heads at Stephen.
“Haven’t you told her yet?”
Stephen’s grip around the spoon tightened. He paused eating and raised his gaze to look at them.
Ava gazed at him, feeling confused. She uttered,
“Brother, is there anything I am supposed to know?”
Stephen put down the spoon on the plate and said,

“There is a family get–together today in the pack house. We all are invited.”
Ava was stunned. ‘Family get–together? In the pack house?‘ she thought.
Pack House meant Ian Dawson’s house. She had gone there even after the rejection, but at that time Jan’s father was the head Alpha. However, at the time, he held the position of Alpha.
She did not want to go there. She did not want to meet her past again and again.
“I have some plans for today,” she muttered, while eating.
“Yeah. She has some plans,It’s totally fine if she doesn’t want to go there,” Stephen spoke out.
Ava glanced at her brother again. She gave him a suspicious look. But her brows relaxed when she realized her brother was thinking she did not want to see lan.
“Carolina invited you specially. You can’t just deny her. She will be upset,” Angela said.
Gamma Harper looked at Ava and said in a gentle tone.
“Though they are our former Alpha and Luna, we respected them a lot.”
Ava gulped, not finding any excuse to deny them. She exhaled and nodded her head.
“Okay, I will go.”
Angela clapped her hands and continued eating while saying,
“So today, after four years, our full family will go to any party together.”
Ava saw how happy her mother looked. She realized once she was her life. Her lips curved slightly as she watched her thrilled.
Ava left her house to meet her friends. Today they planned to go shopping.
Ava met them in the shopping mall.
“What are you saying? You are going to the pack house?” Debra asked.
“Hmm,” Ava said, looking at some dresses.
“Did you say no? I mean, are you comfortable going there?” Abigail asked, grabbing Ava’s hand to stop her from walking.
Three of them paused and decided to sit somewhere to talk.
“I tried. Mom and Dad were saying Aunt Carolina wanted to see me since I returned after four years. Dad said they respected her, so I should not say no.”
Abigail and Debra stared at Ava, trying to understand what she was feeling.
“Are you nervous?” Debra asked.
Ava raised a brow and asked, “Why would I?”
Abigail held her hands. “I am afraid he will-”
Ava cut her off by saying,
“Come on,
Abi. I don’t care what he will do or say I know he hates me. If he does anything to humiliate me, I will return the
favor.”
Abigail fixed her with a hard stare. “Are you really okay?”
Ava laughed. “You will make me nervous if you keep talking about him to me.”

Debra ordered something for them to cat. She grabbed a drink and swirled it with a straw.
“You know he also has someone, right?”
Ava froze when she heard her. But her gaze did not move to react.
“I know.”
Abigail let out a long breath. She seemed concerned that it would break Ava’s heart.
Debra was up to something else. She continued pushing it deeper, saying,
“How do you know?”
“I read it in the magazines.”
“Are you aware who she is?”
Ava paused for a moment before realizing that she had never read the woman’s name. It was because Ian Dawson’s fiancée’s name never became public.
“No,” she replied.
Abigail looked away from her and said,
“We also don’t know who she is. But I have heard she is a beta’s daughter.”
Ava’s eyes shifted as she blinked a few times. She lowered her head as something came to her mind.
Who might it be?
It was not too hard to guess.
Without hesitation, a name came to her mind. She was the beta’s daughter.
She let out a sneer as she thought,
‘Of course, it’s Nova.‘
