Jan was anxious when he woke up in the early morning. All night long, he was unable to sleep.
First of all, the thoughts of Ava kept moving around in his head, and secondly, the pain in his back!
He took a quick look at his back as he stood in front of the mirror. For a few days, the wounds began to fade. But from the night before yesterday, it started to appear more. The red lines pierced his skin, causing excruciating pain.
He hissed as he saw the branches continue to spread across his broad back. It nearly reached his shoulders. He tilted his head left and right. He moved his shoulders in an attempt to avoid the pain.
He took a quick shower and changed into a black suit. His back ached while he tried to put on the suit jacket.
He considered not wearing it today. He threw it onto the couch and left the room.
Seeing him in a white shirt and black pants, his parents were surprised.
“Are you going somewhere?” his father, Alpha Martin, asked.
“Why?” he asked sharply.
“Can’t I ask you something now?”
“No,” he replied, heading toward the door.
His mother, Carolina, motioned to Alpha Martin not to speak to Ian right now. Martin did not say anything else.
Martin looked at Carolina and said,
“He is a very successful man, I know. But he should not forget that I am his father.”
Ian could hear his voice clearly. He slowed his pace. Turning his head to the side, he looked at his father and asked,
“Did you say something?”
Alpha Martin looked at his son and replied,
“You know everything but manners. You can not have this bad–boy attitude around your parents. Each Alpha has a unique personality, but they do not treat their parents as outsiders.”
Ian slipped his hands into his pockets and turned to face him fully.
His brows raised slightly, as if he were taken aback by Alpha Martin’s words.
He walked back to his parents, which surprised both of them.
Carolina stepped between him and Martin, fearing that they would fight.
Ian had been ignoring his parents for the past four years. He always avoided answering their questions because he was too busy building his own empire.
He paused in front of them, staring directly into his father’s eyes.
“How is it possible for the person who never treated his son like other Alphas to expect his son to treat him like others?”
Ian’s words caused Alpha Martin’s eyes to widen. Touching his son’s arm, Carolina shook her head.

“He just always corrects you, my son. You tell me, did he ever interfere with your decisions all these years? If he wants some attention from his son at this age, is it not wrong to expect?”
Ian’s eyes were expressionless. He turned his gaze to his mother.
“When I expected my dad to be like others‘ dads, what did he do? Beat me in front of his rival when I was a child? Made me apologize in front of others? Told them how weak was and how powerful their child was?”
Carolina’s grip shook on his arm. She recalled the incident that happened many years ago.
She used to think Ian had forgotten that. But it was the time when the distance started between the son and the father.
“You were a kid at that time. I only did what I was supposed to do,” Alpha Martin said.
“But I am not a kid anymore, Dad. Your kid has grown up. If he wants, he can give you a bunch of kids.”
His sharp and blunt words took them aback.
It was their son, Ian Dawson.
The unavoidable anger that never left his face was accompanied by a chilly voice, a sharp tongue, and a voice that was cold.
“You need someone who will tell you how to behave with everyone. You can be successful, but you can’t get your parents‘ blessings like that. This pack was mine when I ruled this; now you are ruling this as your own. That doesn’t mean you can throw us away.”
Alpha Martin expressed rage. It was as if four years of rage had erupted all at once.
Ian was staring at his father. He clenched his jaw. He nodded and took a step backward.
“You don’t have to give me blessings. I am a bad guy, and I will get what I deserve. My life is not a piece of cake. The way I am living my life… Tell one of your favorite Alphas to come and live it like me. I am already living in hell,

Both of his parents were puzzled. They watched as he turned around and left the house.
“Hell? Who is he joking with? He lives his life to the fullest. He has his own packs. He has the girl he wants from his childhood. He has surpassed his rival in business. Is he still claiming to live in hell? Your son is really ungrateful, Carolina.”
Carolina kept her gaze fixed on the door. Her eyes welled up with tears. As a mother, she sensed that her son was unhappy. That was something she had always felt.
When her son decided to make Freya his fiancée, she was overjoyed and hopeful that he would change. B. that day, he has become colder than before.
Outside the pack house,
Ian got into his car and told his driver to go to Dane’s office

The driver was unaware of the address. Ian called Neon and instructed him to forward the address to his driver.
When Neon asked if he could join him, he said he could go directly to the company.
Soon after Neon sent the address to Ian’s driver, he started the car.
Ian rested his back against the backseat. His upper back was painful to move. He knew it would fade soon. It only appeared at night and faded during the day.

After an hour,
Th&car came to a stop in front of a building.
The driver quickly got out of the car and opened the door for him.
Putting on his black sunglasses, Ian stepped out of the car.
The people around the building came to a halt when they noticed the head Alpha of the pack had come there.
The women covered their mouths when they realized they got an opportunity to see lan Dawson in person.
Wearing all black and white, he looked like a hero straight out of a fantasy novel.
He paid no attention to the people around him. Putting his hands into his pockets, he walked into the building.
