Her hair was pulled back into a high bun. Her delicate features were being gently caressed
y the strands of loose
hair.
She pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, thereby removing it from direct contact with her face.
She was dressed in a green dress that reached just below her knees along with a cream–colored coat that she wore over it.
She had a light smile on her face while speaking, but it did not reach her eyes. She looked like a professional
woman.
As Alpha Dane’s assistant approached Ian, he cast a glance in the direction of our Beta Bruno. He said to Bruno,
“Alpha is in a meeting. Alpha Ian can wait in his cabin.”
“Meeting?” Beta Bruno frowned as if he was not aware of it.
Ronald sneered at him. “Your Alpha is too afraid to be all alone with him.”
Beta Bruno gave him a poker look. Ronald rolled his eyes and nodded his head.
They were both in the same profession. How could they hear anything about their own Alpha?
Bruno looked at Ian. At that time he realized that he was lost somewhere, focusing his gaze not on the conversation but on somewhere else.
He followed his gaze. When he noticed Ian was staring at Ava, a smirk formed on his face.
“That is our designer, Florence. I hope you saw her yesterday. She is the best designer, and she works for us. Unfortunately, no one has a chance to win this time except us.”
The assistant was shocked to hear Beta Bruno. He had never heard him speak positively about Ava. They did not get along well. That was what others believed.
Ian looked away from Ava when he heard Beta Bruno. Ronald glanced at Ava. He was amazed at how she was talking with an employee with such superiority as if she knew how to do that. She still managed to smile as a leader should do.
Ava did not notice them as they were far from her. She walked toward a cabin with two other women. She looked tired and busy.
Ronald murmured, “Of course, we saw her yesterday.”
Bruno gazed at Ronald, confused by his tone. He wondered if Ronald was interested in Ava.
So he warned him in advance.
“She is not reserved.”
Ian raised an eyebrow and turned his gaze to Beta Bruno.
“Not reserved? What do you mean?”

Beta Bruno looked at the door where Ava had just gone inside, and said,
“If you like my sister, then pay attention to her. Stop staring at other women.” lan rolled his eyes behind his glasses. He turned to Dane’s assistant and asked, “Which way?”
The assistant quickly motioned with his hand to lead the way. Beta Bruno did not accompany them. The assistant led them to a large cabin.
Ian examined the whole cabin while moving toward the couches. He sat on a couch, leaning his back against it, sitting like the boss of the office.
Ronald sat next to him. He also glanced about, taking in the room’s newly designed interior.
His gaze shifted to the glass window directly across from the desk.
“Whese cabin is that?” Ronald said.
Ian looked at him, not understanding why he was asking about it while they were sitting in Dane’s cabin.
Ronald then signaled him to the glass window. Since the couch was on the other wall, Ian did not notice it until Ronald told him.
“Who cares?” Ian muttered.
He moved his hands to reach into his pockets only to realize he had forgotten to bring a cigarette packet with him. Ronald noticed it and pulled out his packet. He gave him a cigarette.
Ian grabbed it and held it between his lips. Ronald raised his hand to light his cigarette.
Just as Ronald was lighting Ian’s cigarette, he noticed someone enter the cabin.
“Oh, someone is here! Who can it be? Dane’s personal assistant?” Ronald said with a chuckle.
Ian turned his gaze to the glass window. He saw someone open that cabin’s door to walk inside. However, she was speaking with someone, so she had not entered yet. But it was a woman.
The next moment she entered the room and closed the door
Ian’s eyes paused on her. He took off his glasses as he frowned at her.
Ronald blinked, then glanced at Ian.
“Oh, that is Ava’s cabin! Why did Dane fix her cabin this close? What could be the reason?”
His words enraged Ian. Ian stared at Ava, watching what she was doing.
Ava approached the desk, holding a few folders. She set them down and poured a glass of water for herself.
After drinking the water, she put the glass down on the desk and walked around to sit on her chair.
She then started to take off her coat.
Ian’s grip on his cigarette tightened as he looked at her. His gaze moved to her bare arms. She leaned against her chair, resting her head and closing her eyes.
Her sleeveless dress became visible to the two men behind the glass door.
Ian turned his head to Ronald.

Ronald’s eyes widened as he noticed lan’s dark gaze. He swallowed and laughed.
“No, no, I am not watching anything. How can I look at my best friend’s ex with evil eyes? By the way, I am coming back in a few minutes.”
After saying that, he got up and walked toward the door.
Before opening the door, he cast a glance at his best friend. His cheeky grin vanished as he concentrated on him. He observed how his best friend was looking at Ava.
A fear rose in his heart that he could not describe to him. He turned and exited the cabin, leaving him alone.
Meanwhile,
Ian was sitting calmly, one leg folded over the other. While smoking, he kept his gaze fixed on Ava.
It appeared that she was unable to see what was happening behind the glass; only he could see her.. Thinking that another man could have seen the view, his eyes covered in shadow.
