Ian’stared at Ava and Dane. His blood began to boil, and it came dangerously close to bursting out of his veins. If he had punched a wall with the way he was clenching his fists, the wall would have been shattered.
It was clear to him that she was taking Dane’s suit jacket off with great care as if she was very concerned that a movement could hurt him.
She looked concerned for Alpha Dane!
The smile that she gave him was very genuine, and it even made its way towards her eyes.
The anger that Ian felt for this woman grew stronger in his heart.
He could not wear his jacket because of his back wounds, and she was assisting another man in removing it. “Thank you, sweetheart,” Dane said.
Ava was stunned by it. Her cheeks turned red. With a muffled voice, she lowered her head.
“You’re welcome.”
She felt a dark gaze on her.
As she cast a glance in his direction, she discovered that Ian was sitting there with an indifferent look. He had a serene expression in his eyes.
The fact that she was in the same room as Dane and him made her feel uncomfortable. Her memories of the times she had spent with Ian came flooding back to her, making her feel even more awkward.
She averted her gaze from him and turned her attention to Dane.
“Alpha.”
Dane reached out to grab a file and handed it to her.
“This is the file I want you to check for a while. It is a key piece of information.”
Ava opened the file while saying,
“What’s inside?”
“Nothing much. All of the upcoming deals that Miss Harrison was about to take over for the next two years are included in this document. But since she chose to leave our company, we need to buckle up.”
Ava was taken aback. A look of shock appeared on her face as she looked at Dane.
By saying that, Dane meant he was snatching every company from Freya. The companies were impressed wit Freya’s modeling abilities and desired for her to become the brand ambassador for their products. But Dane would not let that happen.
Ava noticed that Dane was very clear about it, as his eyes did not show any signs of emotion. She slowly shifted his gaze behind him at Ian.
The expression on his face shifted slightly. However, he did not appear to be surprised.
After she had cleared her throat, she replied,
“I am going back to my office. I will notify you about this file.”

Dane shook his head. “Why don’t you join me and Alpha Ian?”
Tanremained silent as Ava cast a fleeting glance in his direction. It did not look like he cared.
“No, thank you.”
Ava then exited the cabin, carrying the file.
Ian’s gaze remained fixed on her until she left the room. His eyes shifted to the glass window as if they were waiting to see her again.
Dane approached a cabinet and retrieved two glasses and a bottle of wine. He approached the coffee table and set them down.
There was complete silence from both of the men.
At that time, they heard a knock on the door.
Ronald opened it and entered before Dane gave him permission to do so.
Dane’s eyes drew to him, arching slightly. Then he averted his gaze and said,
“Beta Ronald.”
Ronald shut the door and approached the couch. He stopped beside Dane and extended his hand.
“Alpha Dane.”
Dane grinned a little when he noticed Ronald’s action. He shook hands and motioned for him to sit on the couch.
Ronald took a seat near Ian, and Dane sat across from him.
Ian’s focus was on the glass window. It was only after he realized that she would not enter the room that he turned his gaze away.
“It is a pleasure to have you both in my office,” Dane said, pouring two glasses of wine and moving them toward
the two men.
Ian examined the wine glasses before shifting his gaze to Dane.
“Stop using Freya in your business,” Ian said directly.
Dane raised his eyebrow and asked,
“When did I use her? Wasn’t she the one who always wanted to be with me?”
Ian held the glass and took a sip of it.
“You are right. She now picked me over you. Are you upset about it?”
Looking at the two Alphas facing off after all these years, Ronald swallowed.
“Why would I be upset? She went to the man she wanted.”
Neither Dane’s tone nor his voice were harsh. This infuriated Ian because it indicated that Dane had either not been affected at all or was merely acting as if he had been.
“In the realm of pretending, Alpha Dane excels. I snatched his favorite woman,” Ian said with a smirk.
For a moment, Dane’s gaze was fixed on him. He appeared to be thinking about what he had just said.

“Favorite woman?” he asked.
Ronald looked at him with a perplexed expression and asked,
“Isn’t Freya Harrison Alpha Dane’s favorite woman?”
When Dane heard him, he gave off the impression of being surprised. But then he let out a chuckle.
He then stopped chuckling and looked at Ronald coldly. “Your Alpha was weak years ago and he is still weak.”
Ronald was taken aback by his unexpected words. He frowned at him and asked,
“What do you mean?”
Dane gave him a grin while leaning his back against the couch and then turned his attention to lan from there.
Ian did not look like he would lose his temper. He was only looking at his rival calmly. It was as if his words did not fuel his rage.
“Whatever happened years ago, he could not shake it off. He should heed his father’s advice; he only has the Alpha bloodline, not the potential.”
The left corner of Ian’s lips moved upward. He sipped on the drink and then sneered.
“Keep challenging me. Perhaps you want to recreate the past again…”
He paused for a moment before continuing,
“But wait a minute; your favorite woman is now mine. What are you planning to do about it? Because you have already ruined your reputation to show her your goody sides.”
Dane gave him a smug look and replied,
“I am not only older than you but also more experienced. You did try to get my favorite woman, but you picked the wrong one this time.”
