Days passed with Ava’s hard work on the project. Ava had been working at the new office. There was no time for her to go home early.
The relationship between her and Dane was improving, though. He looked after her at work. Always, he reminded her to eat regularly.
He even agreed to go with her to the reunion party. Ava was thrilled about it. She was grateful that he had agreed. Dane said it was nothing to be thankful about. Since everyone was going with their partner, she also had the right to go there with her partner.
Ava’s daily life was going well because she had not seen lan again.
She felt relieved that lan did not say anything to Dane about their past. But she made the decision to tell Dane everything. She was afraid that Dane would be mad if he got to know that she was with his rival in the past. It was the reason she always stopped herself from telling him about it. But she knew she could not hide it from him forever. Since she was not with Ian anymore, it did not matter at all.
It was noon.
Ava was inside a meeting room. Looking at the man who was talking about products, Ava rubbed her forehead. She was feeling tired. She had been working for a long time.
Hours could not be tracked. When her hand moved to rub them, a hand gripped her wrist.
She paused and turned her head to the person holding her hand.
Dane gave her a look before pulling her wrist. It caused her chair to move closer to him.
She blinked her eyes. “W–what?” she asked in a whisper.
She noticed others who were now looking at them. Dane turned his attention to the others and said,
“Turn your attention to the meeting.”
They gulped and returned their attention to the man who was talking earlier. Dane turned his head to Ava and asked,
“Why don’t you just take a one–day leave?”
Fixing her gaze on his hand, she shook her head. “No.”
“Why?”
“I still have a lot of work to do.”
“But you…”
His secretary interrupted him as he bent down and whispered close to his ears.
“Alpha, Miss Harrison has come to meet you.”
His eyes grew darker as he let go of Ava’s hand. Ava was taken aback by his sudden mood change. I She knew she could keep him calm. So she placed her palm on top of his at the table and rubbed it.

“Let her wait.”
The meeting went on for more than half an hour.
When the meeting was finally over, Ava rose from her seat. She realized that Dane’s suggestion was not bad. She should take a one–day leave. She was under too much stress at work.
She walked out of the meeting room. She walked to the elevator, which took her to the top floor of her office.
After setting up all the important files that she had to fix after the meeting, she placed them on her desk.
She then left her office room.
As soon as she stepped outside her office, she ran into a couple.
Freya and Ian were heading in her direction. She realized that Freya had come to the company with lan. She understood that they were going to Dane’s office.
Ava did not meet Ian’s eyes as she avoided his gaze. She continued walking until she almost passed them.
“Miss Taylor.”
When Freya called out, Ava came to a halt. She tightened her fists and stopped walking. She turned to Freya and gave her a professional smile.
“Miss Harrison”
“How are you doing?” Freya asked in a friendly tone.
Ava narrowed her eyes, suspecting her behavior.
“Just so–so. What about you?”
Freya chuckled as she moved her hand to hold Ian’s arm.
“I am doing more than fine. Why would I not? Alpha Ian is with me. He is giving me all of his time.”
Ava glanced at Freya’s hand, which was holding Ian’s hand, before moving her gaze to his face.
A dark set of eyes was staring at her. The moment her eyes met his, she was reminded of the day he came to the office.
She averted her gaze, realizing that she was clear from her side now.
With a small smile on her face, she returned her gaze to Freya,
“I hope you continue to be happy like this.”
Ava walked past them after she finished speaking.
Freya’s smile froze when she heard that. She turned her head to look at Ava’s back.
“How about you and Dane?” she spoke out.
Ava’s steps came to an abrupt halt. She spun around to face her again. Her small smile spread did not go unnoticed by Ian.

Freya cleared her throat before saying,

Without looking back at Ian, Ava walked toward the staircase leading to the rooftop.
Freya and Ian were both looking at her but with different expressions.

Ian followed her gaze and saw that Dane had come out of the elevator.
Freya stared at Dane, seeing if his eyes shifted to her. When her gaze met him, he ignored her completely, which stunned her.
“MISS TAYLOR!”
A female employee screamed, drawing everyone’s attention to Ava, who was on the stairs.
Ian and Dane both turned their heads to look at Ava.
Freya noticed Ava losing her balance on the stairs, as if there was something liquid on them, twisting her heels. In fact, she was about to fall.
Freya felt as if the man next to him yanked his hand from her grip and dashed toward Ava, like a gust of wind. When she turned around, she noticed Dane had also rushed toward Ava.
Freya’s eyes dimmed when she realized something.
“Both of my men are in love with her!”
